Chapter 9-

-The Unsettling Ring Ceremony

-Morning
Meher was peacefully sleeping when Isha and Diya burst into her room, chattering loudly.

Isha - "Utho Meher, it's morning!" (Wake up, Meher, it's morning!)

Diya - "Bhai, itni der tak kaise so sakti ho tum?" (How can you sleep so late?)

Meher groaned and pulled the blanket over her head. And says
"What is this? Let me sleep."

Isha - "Agar ab so gayi toh sasural mein kaise sambhalogi? Tumhe toh responsible bahu banna hai!" (If you sleep now, how will you manage in your in-laws' house? You have to be a responsible daughter-in-law!)

They chuckled, and Meher couldn't help but laugh too.

Meher - "Thik hai, thik hai, uth rahi hoon." (Okay, okay, I'm getting up.)

After some playful banter, Meher and her friends decided to go out for lunch. Just as they were about to leave, Anjali stopped them.

Anjali - "Kahan ja rahe ho tum log? Tumhari ring ceremony hai aaj, Meher yahin raho." (Where are you all going? You have your ring ceremony today, stay here.)

Isha - "Bas lunch ke liye ja rahe hain, Anjali aunty. Jaldi wapas aa jayenge." (We are just going out for lunch, Anjali aunty. We'll be back soon.)

-At the lunch

Anjali reluctantly agreed, and The girls leave the house and enjoy a lively lunch together. Meher received a text from Vikram:
"Get ready for tonight, sweetheart."

Meher cringes and mutters -
"Yeh kya bakwas hai." (What nonsense is this.)

Isha - "Kya hua Meher?" (What happened, Meher?)

Meher - "Kuch nahi, bas aise hi." (Nothing, just like that.)

-Back at home
Meher decided to ignore it and not show it to anyone. Later, back at home, the preparations for the ring ceremony are in full swing, and the house is a flurry of activity. Meher went to the beautician to get ready. She wore a stunning pearl-colored dress that made her look ethereal.
