The car ride back home was in fact one of the most awkward moments in my life.

Between me and Alessandro it was probably more awkward, but thank God Enzo was there and he was clueless of what had happened, therefore it was a little better. He kept going on about girls he met where very attracted to him and how he could totally go for modelling with the suit he was wearing and stuff like that.

Deciding I have nothing better to do with my life and given the current situation, I decided to doze off because we still had a long way to reach home- or could I even call it that?- so I leaned my head on the window and closed my eyes, slowly drifting to a hopefully dream less sleep.

Danger.

My heart kept screaming at me as I walked to the boy's room. I wasn't supposed to be out this late, it was nights out time and I was supposed to be in my bed and fast asleep.

But he had told me to come. He told me that it was urgent and that I needed to get there as soon as possible because he had to tell me something. I tip toed to his room, which was just across mine and slip inside as quietly as I could, closing the door softly behind me.

"You actually came"
He said with a smile. Only this time, he wasn't wearing the clothes I usually saw him with. He was wearing a pair of pijamas.

I nodded and moved closer, sitting on the edge of the bed

"Yes, I wasn't going to but you said it was urgent so.."

I fidget with my fingers as I looked down at my nightgown, anxious. Could he have called me here because he was sick?

"Emilia, I want to get out of here"

He said as I felt his gaze on me.

My eyes widened and I turned my head to look at him, in shock.

"What?..you can't! Mama and Papa said that it's dangerous outside..and -"

"Are you serious? Emilia you can't believe what they said after all of this. They hit us, Em. They don't care for us, if we don't leave, then we will be dead sooner or later."

He said in an angry tone.

I shook my head

"All parents do that.. it's to teach us discipline."

He snorted

"Seriously? And how would you know? We rarely go outside! We are homeschooled and discipline isn't taught with hitting. I know you know it. I know you want to leave too."

I shook my head and hugged my teddy bear tightly

"I don't! I don't want to leave mommy and daddy"

The boy moved closer and placed his hands on my shoulders softly

"Listen to me, Em. I don't want to leave you, not here but I can't force you to leave. I already made a plan so I am leaving tomorrow at this hour. Please, at least give it some thought. You deserve better"
