Throughout my English quiz,
I couldn't think straight.I was worried about Penelope.
My mind still couldn't wrap my head around it,
It felt like every second was an hour, and every minute was an eternity.Every eternity without Penelope was slowly burning into my already scarred skin.
I tapped my pencil as I looked around. My teacher was walking around the student and watching everyone's test from their shoulders.
It was getting harder and harder to focus.
My hand rose to the air, and the teacher walked over. "Mister Galson, may I go to the bathroom?"
"You have a break after this quiz. Use it wisely."
He walked away to another student who was raising their hand.
The writing on the paper came in massive scribbles.
Secretly, in my mind, I was freaking out.
The burn on my skin was beginning to stir up in my mouth. I held it in and covered my mouth with a hand, and instantly raised my hand again. My face was going green as the teacher hurried over. He saw my face and quickly said, "Alright, go to the nurses office or the bathroom, Declan. You're finished with your test. Please help her make it safe."
A blonde looking boy nodded and stood up. He adjusted the glasses on his face and helped me out the room. He hurried me to a single bathroom, and I quickly hunched over the toilet.
The contents inside my stomach emptied as the disgusting taste lingered on my tongue. Declan knocked on the door, "You good in there?"
My breathing was slowly starting to get normal, "Yeah, I'll be out in a second.." and rested my head on the top of the toilet lid before standing up. My legs felt like jelly, and I almost fell over, but I held myself up from the wall.
I opened the door and slowly stepped out. Declan was scrolling through his phone but looked up, so he put it back into his pocket.
After a bit of walking, he stopped and turned to me, "Hey Hazel? I know we have to get back to class and all, but I remember what Mathew did...it was such a dick move, I'm really sorry for my cousin's actions."
