April 8, Monday morning
As I walked through the school halls, I got shoved to the floor by some kid older than me. My hands hurt, and I felt dazed. Sadly Penelope usually comes right before the bell so it meant I was alone for the first few minutes of school. She's my only friend, which meant not many people liked me. Suddenly, the dude who shoved me was shoved back by a rose beige girl who looked older than the guy who shoved me. Her dirty blonde hair was cut to her shoulder, her skin looked sandy, dry looking skin, her body looked pretty normal for a 17 year old, and she wore headphones around her neck. Her style looked like she was an artist with an unbuttoned shirt, jeans with a black belt and finally converse. The other girl was pale Ivory skin, lighter long blonde hair, her upturned nose, smooth plump lips, smooth looking skin, she was a bit chubbier, a blue shirt that was tucked into a black skirt, and Black Dr Martins. "Are you ok? That looked like a heavy fall there.." The shorter girl asks as she then looks up at her girlfriend..? "If I see you anywhere close to her again, I'll make sure your face falls off!" The taller one yelled at the running boy as she then turned to me. "She's right, that Fall looked rough. Do you need to go to the nurse?" The taller one asks, but I shake my head as the bell rings. "Oh... alright, but if that kid gives you any more trouble, just come to us. Oh, by the way, I'm Jackie, and this is Bubbles or Bubbline. Anyway we have to go mystery girl." Jackie said as she walked away with Bubbles' hand interwind. Well, that covers my suspicions, doesn't it. Ugh, Penelope is gonna be late again.
I miss her smart mind and pretty face. Then I realised how late I would be if I continued to think around, so I ran to my class.Penelope was already waiting there, and I was (almost) late. The teacher was about to do attendance, so I was technically not late. When I sat down in my seat that was directly next to Penelope. She leaned over and whispered, "Where were you?" I looked at my wrists. "Some jockey tripped me in the halls today. I think it was Mathew again." She gave me a sympathetic face and turned back to look at the teacher as she said our names. And here I was thinking she was gonna be late. I barely listened to what the teacher said, so when the bell rang, I swung my bag over my shoulder and walked out of the classroom with Penelope in front of me. We walked into the kiosk, bought ourselves a sandwich, and headed to the bathrooms that were mostly empty. Usually we ate there because of how loud people were. I hated loud stuff. When I was a kid my parents would argue a lot especially at the end of my dads life. After the fight my dad would come into my room with something made of chocolate to make me feel better. Usually, my dad would end up sleeping on the couch. There was another reason why I did this. I hate eating in front of people... One time, I asked Penelope if we could go somewhere quieter, and she didn't even question it, and now it's our daily routine for lunch. Another reason why I love her. We sat on the floor of a stall, opposite of each other with my feet clamped to the wall. Secretly I shoved the food down my throat. "And then she said how I had to be early today, so now I forgot to bring my headband."
《Her Skin》 I love how much she wears headbands Her beautiful personality, clean face, no acne, no pimples, her lips that looked so kissable, and her gorgeous black eyes looked like She could lockyour soul Up with One . 《look》
I didn't even realise that she asked me a question and was currently looking at me. "Huh? What??" She grinned with her teeth and burst out laughing. "That face is always so hilarious, Hazel, I said, 'Don't you find that annoying?'" I had not listened to anything she said. "Uhhhh Yeah.... very..." She laughed even harder. "God, where did I find you?" I don't know why that stung, but it did. My face fell, and I tried to laugh it off. Obviously, that was just a joke... Right? Penelope must have seen my face because hers turned into a mix of sadness and regret. "Hazel, you know I didn't mean it like that, I'm so happy we're best friends." She reassured me, but it still stung, and it felt worse when she said 'friends'. Of course, she would only want to be your best friend, no one would ever want to date you. "It's fine." She shook her head, "You don't look fine." Someone randomly burst into the bathroom, and Penelope shoved her hand over my mouth before I could reply. She was dangerously close. Is this a dream come true or something...? Because it sure felt like it. My crush is dangerous close to my face, so close that I could kiss her at this point. My eyes were glued to her black ones. I was so close to kissing her, but the person left, and her hand slipped away from my mouth, and she went back to her old spot. The bell rang, so we left the bathrooms chatting like nothing happened. The rest of the day went the same, but once I came back home, I couldn't help but miss Penelope.
Oh, the missed opportunity.
Once I made it upstairs, I realised that my sister was home early. "Hey Frankie.." She looked up from her phone, and when she saw me, her face lit up a bit. She's a year older than me, smarter than me and moms favourite, but she's always made sure to look out for me. "You look like someone threw your dog out the window?" I giggled at her description. "Just an interesting day, you?" She shrugged and looked back at her phone. I walked back to my room and opened my journal, letting my bag fall. Maybe I just need to write down my feelings. 《Or think about my feelings》
