Taylor's POV:

The oven beeps pulling me out of my thoughts and the little patter of feet come running towards me. Bouncy blonde curls come into my vision as I bend over to take out the chai cookies out of the oven. 

"Cookies! Auntie Tay, all done?" The small voice that I have grown so fond of says from behind my left leg. 

"They are, we gotta let them cool off then we can ice them girly." I respond running my hand over her hair as I close the oven door. I reach down and pick her up and set her on my hip as I stir the icing we had made earlier. She leans her head on my shoulder and twirls a loose curl that had fallen out from my bun. 

"Wanna try the icing?" I ask lifting the spoon up to her to taste our creation. Her giggles fill the room and I don't hear the front door open or her mom's footsteps as her heels tap across the hardwood floor.

"What's going on in here?" Brittney asks with a teasing smile as she sets her purse down on the countertop.

"Mama! Cookies!" Sterling giggles out squirming out of my arms to rush to her mother. I smile as Brit leans down to pull her into a tight hug even with being pregnant, she lifts her up easily on her hip.

"I see that, I can't wait to try one! Where's your brother, did he help?" 

"Bronze just went down for a nap a few minutes ago. Sterling agreed to take a nap after the cookies were done, isn't that right girly?" I answer with a knowing grin towards the toddler who hates nap time. Sterling tucks her face into her mom's neck hiding from me causing Brittney to laugh.

"Why don't you go lay down in your room for 20 minutes and if you are still awake you can come back out and play quietly with us while Bronzey naps. Then you can have one of the cookies you made with Tay." Brittney negotiates with her. Sterling grumbles but jumps down and runs off towards her room. 

"Thank you for watching them today so I could go to my doctors appointment alone, I really appreciate it. How were they?" Brit asks sitting down on the barstool across from me as I ice the cookies. 

A few weeks ago Brittney had asked if I would be willing to watch her kids while she went to her OBGYN appointment since her nanny had something come up and wouldn't be available and Pat had practice. I jumped at the opportunity to help her out and spend time with the kids, which is how I have spent the better part of the day at the Mahomes's house. 

"Anytime Brit, you know I love them. They were little angels as always. Sterling drove Bronze around in her little car for awhile and then we played tag in the backyard before we turned your kitchen into a war zone. They both ate chicken, vegetables, and rice for lunch so they shouldn't be hungry for a little bit." I give my report as I finish up the cookies and placing the dishes in the sink. 

"Sterling was so excited when I told her you were coming over today to play, she kept asking if you would bake cookies with her." Brit says waving at the trays of cookies lining her countertop.

"I figured we could send some to the team since I was already baking them anyways." I try to explain. 

"Come on, let's move to the couch and you can fill me in on whats new with you now that you are finally back. Pat can do the dishes later." Brit says as she stands and moves into the living room. I wipe my hands off on a kitchen towel and take off the apron I had thrown on over my sundress before following her on to the couch. I lean against the side of the couch turning to face her curling my legs up under me.
