Chapter 12

Music was thudding my ears as I walked through the door. Me and Lauren had to push our way inside because the hallway was full of people.

Dudes holding glasses of beer in their hands, shouting, and girl dancing dirtily with each other along to the music.

“Wow, Sam wasn’t joking when he said wild party!” I shouted so Lauren could hear. She nodded and laughed.

She pulled on my arm to get my attention. “I see Tyler. I’m gonna go over to him, you ok by yourself?” she said in my ear.

“Yeah, go ahead.” I said, then I spotted Sam walking towards us. “Sam’s coming anyway.” I smiled at her and hugged her before she squeezed her way through the crowd.

“Hey,” I grinned.

Sam didn’t reply, he just grabbed me by the shoulders and started kissing me. I felt him push me against the wall and he put his hand on my thigh, stroking it. I tried to pull his hand away but he was stronger. When he finally came up for breath, he winked.

“Sam,” I shouted. “wait,”

But his lips were on mine again and I found myself kissing him back. He leaned away and took my hand in his, then lead me upstairs.

We went into a room and I knew what he wanted. The music could be heard but only faintly and the room was dark.  I blushed and felt around for the light switch. Sam shook his head.

“No, we don’t need light.” He whispered into my ear. He cupped my face and kissed me, it wasn’t a gentle kiss. I put my hand, palms out, on his chest and pushed him away from me.

“Sam, no!” I exclaimed. “I don’t want to.”

Sam looked at me and slowly nodded. He let out a “mmm” sound. “Yeah.” He said, grinning. “Well, sorry.” He hugged me. I sighed, relieved that he’s not mad.

“Sorry...” I whispered in his ear and he kissed my cheek.

“Wanna go downstairs?” Sam changed the subject. I could still feel his manhood against my leg though. I stepped away and nodded.

As we walked downstairs I peeked into another room and saw a girl and guy making out. The girl shoved the guy on the bed and closed the door, shooting me a cold glare before she did.

Sam took my hand again and pulled me into the living room, which was, like the rest of the house, dark and full of people.

He put his hand on my hips and we started dancing.

“Want a drink?” Sam shouted above the music.

“Yeah!” I shouted back.

Sam kissed me on the lips before disappearing through the crowd. I looked at my watch. Going to be 1AM soon. I sighed and just stood still, listening to the music.

Then someone smacked my ass. I yelped up in surprise and jumped a little. I turned around and slapped the grinning dude. He held up his two hands, surrendering, and went after another girl.

I ran my hand through my hair and looked around for Sam. Instead, I found Ash. Ash and Sarah. Ash was looking around then Sarah whispered something into his ear and he nodded. She kissed him and walked away, probably into the kitchen to get a drink. Guys looked at her and wolf whistled as she swung her hips.

I rolled my eyes and instead looked at Ash. He sighed as a guy approached him and started talking to him. He laughed and the dude patted him on the back as he walked away from Ash.

Then Ash’s eyes bore into mine. I blushed a little and brushed my side fringe out of my eyes. I saw Ash making his way towards me. Just then an arm went around my waist and Sam grinned down at me. He had two bottles of beer in his hands. He handed one to me and drank one himself.

I looked at Ash, who now stopped walking towards me, and gulped down the 250ml of beer. It was a little sour but it was cold and refreshing.

Ash turned and walked away. He was out of sight.

Sam’s lips found mine and he bit down on my lower lip, actually hurting it. I broke away from him.

“Come on baby.” Sam pleaded.

“Sam, I told you, I’m not sleeping with you tonight!” I snapped.

“Fine.” He rolled his eyes and grabbed a bottle of vodka out of a girl’s hand. She cursed at him and stumbled away, probably drunk. Sam drank out of the bottle and handed it to me.

I wiped the top of it before drinking out of it too.

“I’ll be right back, drink away babe.” Sam winked and walked away. Some of his mates patted him on the back as he passed and chatted to him. Girls blew him kisses.

I drank, angry. Angry at Sam for not understanding, angry at those girls who are all over him and angry at myself because I couldn’t do what Sam wanted. But more angry with Ash, who didn’t have the guts to come over to me.

Or maybe he didn’t think there was a point.

Was there?

I lifted the bottle to my lips again, but it was empty. A drunk dude walked past and I grabbed the unopened can of beer out of his hand and replaced it with the empty vodka bottle.

He didn’t seem to notice, and he stumbled past, shouting at his friends.

I opened the can and gulped it down.

Where’s Sam?

I looked around but I couldn’t see him anymore. I stumbled out of the crowded living-room and leaned against walls to steady myself.

Great, I’m drunk.

I tripped and crashed into somebody.

“Sorry,” I said, but my voice was slurred. I looked up from the strong hands that held me and saw a familiar face.

“Ash?” I said and grimaced when I bit down on my tongue. His hands tightened around me and lifted me up onto my feet.

“Well, you’re pretty drunk.” He said, but his voice was already distant. I opened my mouth to speak, to say something but my eyes closed. But I could still feel his arms around me, trying to steady me, could still smell his aftershave.  Then blackness took over.
