Kaira's Outfit

As I walked into the conference room for the final review, I could feel the tension in the air. Rhishav was already seated at the head of the table, his expression as impassive as ever. My heart skipped a beat when our eyes met for a brief moment, but I quickly looked away, concentrating on the presentation.

Rishav's Outfit

The meeting unfolded with a series of discussions and negotiations. Rhishav remained largely detached, his responses curt and to the point. He spoke when necessary, but his focus seemed to be entirely on the business at hand. Despite the formal atmosphere, I couldn't help but feel an undercurrent of something unspoken, something more beneath his cool exterior.

As the final discussions wrapped up, I felt a mix of relief and anxiety. The presentation was behind me, but my heart raced with unspoken words and unresolved feelings for Rhishav. I glanced at him, at the head of the table, his expression as guarded as always.

As the room started to clear, I hoped for a moment alone with him—a chance to discuss not just the project, but everything that lingered between us. Just as I began to approach him, a colleague from another department swept into the room, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Rhishav.

"Rhishav!" she called out, her voice dripping with enthusiasm as she glided over. Without hesitation, she reached out and intertwined her fingers with his for a brief handshake that felt anything but innocent.

"Great job today! You always manage to steal the spotlight."

Rhishav smiled politely, the kind of courteous smile that felt distant to me.

"Thanks, Jenna," he replied, unable to hide the hint of annoyance in his tone as he turned his full attention to her.

Jenna took a step closer, her presence vibrant and undeniably flirtatious.

"You know, I've been thinking about how we could collaborate on the next big project together. How about dinner sometime to discuss it?" She tossed her hair back, her gaze locking onto his as if they were already in a world of their own.

My heart sank as I watched the exchange. A swell of jealousy washed over me, tightening my chest. I could feel the atmosphere shift around us as if their light-hearted banter was wrapping around me like a thick fog, suffocating my hopes of even a simple conversation with him.

Rhishav glanced briefly in my direction, but it was only a fleeting acknowledgment before he turned back to Jenna.

"I'm busy for the next few weeks, but I appreciate the offer," he said, his tone still professional but a touch colder than before.

I couldn't bear to watch any longer. I took a step back, my heart pounding in a mix of embarrassment and hurt. With my team gathering their things, I turned away, forcing myself to blend into the group as we made our exit.

As I walked out of the conference room, I felt a heavy sense of defeat wash over me. It was clear now that the distance between Rhishav and me wasn't just an illusion. The opportunity I thought we had was slipping away, and I couldn't help but wonder if this spark I felt would ever ignite into something more, or if I would always remain a mere observer in his world.

Meeting Room

In the haze of emotions swirling around me, I turned away, forcing myself to merge back into the crowd as my colleagues gathered their belongings. The weight of defeat washed over me, threatening to engulf me entirely. It was painfully clear that the connection I had hoped to nurture with Rhishav was crumbling.

Yet, as I stepped out of the conference room, I noticed a curious shift in Rhishav's demeanor. The moment Jenna swept into his space, his cool detachment seemed to falter. His polite smile was strained, and amidst her flirtatious advances, I caught a fleeting flash of discomfort on his face.

For the briefest heartbeat, I saw his gaze dart toward me as I retreated, his pulse quickening with something unspoken. It was as though he was suddenly aware of the weight of Jenna's intrusion, his irritation simmering beneath his composed surface. The fleeting look of discontent in his eyes was a stark contrast to his usual aloof demeanor.

When Rhishav abruptly dismissed Jenna's dinner invitation, there was a subtle rebellion in his rejection—a silent acknowledgment of the delicate balance that seemed to exist between us. Yet, the opportunity for clarity slipped away as I walked out, burdened by resignation. The chance to bridge the gap between us felt lost, shattered by the weight of my own doubts.

As I moved away, I wondered if Rhishav felt the sting of my absence. Would he ever recognize the fleeting spark that flickered with such intensity between us, or would I remain a mere spectator in his meticulously constructed world?
