Author's POV
Varun's day had been a whirlwind of meetings and phone calls. As he navigated the corridors of his office building, an unsettling feeling gnawed at him. He had decided to check on Rishav, driven by a mix of suspicion and curiosity. The hallway was eerily quiet as he approached Rishav's cabin, but something felt off. His instincts urged him to investigate further.
With a firm hand, Varun opened the door to Rishav's cabin. The sight that greeted him stopped him dead in his tracks. Rishav and Kaira were locked in an intimate embrace, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. Varun's heart pounded, and his mind raced to piece together what he was seeing.
Kaira. His sister. And Rishav. The realization hit him like a punch to the gut. The image of them together was seared into his memory, and the anger he felt was immediate and intense.
Varun's world tilted. He stumbled out of the room, barely processing the cold air of the hallway. His steps were rapid, almost frantic. The sight of Kaira and Rishav together, the betrayal, it all churned inside him like a storm.
He needed to confront Rishav, to get answers. The evening found him waiting in a dimly lit room, his mood dark and brooding. When Rishav arrived, Varun's tension was palpable.
"What's going on, Varun?" Rishav asked, his tone wary.
Varun couldn't hold back. His voice was a low growl as he challenged Rishav. "We need to talk."
The confrontation was immediate and fierce. Varun's anger fueled his actions, and he attacked Rishav with a force driven by betrayal and frustration. The room echoed with the sounds of their struggle, the air thick with tension.
"You think you can just waltz into my life and take my sister?" Varun's voice was a roar. "I trusted you, Rishav! I thought you were a friend!"
Rishav was defensive, trying to reason with Varun amid their fight. "Varun, stop! This isn't going to solve anything!"
Varun's eyes burned with intensity as he continued. "I gave you a responsibility—to keep her safe, not to be in a relationship with her! How could you betray my trust like this?"
The fight went on, a mix of physical blows and heated words. Varun's anger was relentless, but as the struggle continued, he could feel his energy waning. He stepped back, panting, his anger giving way to a more somber emotion.
Varun's voice was strained as he asked, "Do you really love my sister, Rishav? Or was this just some fleeting attraction?"
Rishav's response was softer, his eyes showing genuine emotion. "I've never felt this way about anyone before, Varun. Kaira means everything to me. I know I'm not perfect, but I promise you, I love her with all my heart."
The sincerity in Rishav's voice was unmistakable. Varun's anger slowly melted into a mix of relief and resignation. He saw the truth in Rishav's eyes, and it made him reconsider his own feelings.
As the fight subsided and the air cleared, Varun's demeanor changed. He clung to his nose, a gesture of reluctant acceptance. "You're really something, Rishav. But I guess you've earned my respect."
Rishav managed a small, genuine smile. "Thanks, Varun. I'll make sure you're impressed."
Varun chuckled despite himself, shaking his head. "You better. Or you might find out why I'm known as the best fighter in the underworld."
Rishav laughed, a sound of relief. "Understood. I'll make sure to keep that in mind."
The confrontation had left Varun feeling conflicted but somewhat relieved. He couldn't deny the truth in Rishav's words, but the road to trust would be long.
