Kaira's POV
It was early morning, and the sun cast a soft golden glow over Mumbai. The city was already buzzing with life as I sipped my coffee, trying to shake off the remnants of a restless night. My thoughts kept drifting back to the party and the unexpected encounter with Rhishav. There was something about seeing him again that had stirred a whirlwind of emotions within me.
As I stepped into my design studio, the familiar hum of activity greeted me. My team was already hard at work, sketching, cutting fabrics, and discussing ideas for our upcoming projects. I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and satisfaction. This was my sanctuary, a place where creativity thrived and dreams were brought to life.
Ritika, my best friend and assistant, was waiting for me at my desk. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and I knew she had some news to share.
"Kaira, you won't believe what just happened," she said, barely able to contain her enthusiasm.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What's going on?"
Ritika handed me a folder with the Shekhawat Tech logo emblazoned on the front. "We received a collaboration offer from Shekhawat Tech."
My heart skipped a beat as I took the folder from her. The moment I saw the logo, my mind drifted to Rhishav. Memories of the party, his commanding presence, and the fleeting connection we shared flooded my thoughts.
"Shekhawat Tech?" I repeated, trying to mask my surprise. "That's quite unexpected."
Ritika nodded, her excitement undiminished. "I know, right? This is a huge opportunity for us, Kaira. Their company is one of the most prestigious in the industry. A collaboration with them could take our brand to new heights."
I glanced at the proposal, skimming through the details. It was an impressive offer, one that could indeed elevate my fashion label. But the thought of working closely with Rishav filled me with a mix of anticipation and apprehension.
"Are you okay?" Ritika asked, noticing my hesitation.
I forced a smile, pushing aside my personal feelings. "Yes, of course. This is incredible news. We should definitely consider it."
Ritika beamed, her enthusiasm contagious. "I knew you'd be excited. We have a meeting scheduled with their team next week to discuss the details. I think this could be the start of something amazing for us."
As she walked away to get back to work, I couldn't help but wonder what this collaboration would mean. Would I be able to maintain a professional distance with Rishav? Or would the unresolved feelings from our past complicate things further?
I shook my head, trying to focus on the present. This was an opportunity I couldn't afford to pass up, regardless of my personal feelings. I needed to stay professional and make the most of this chance to grow my brand.
Later that day, as I reviewed the proposal in detail, I found my mind wandering back to Rishav. His face, his voice, and the way he had looked at me during the party—it all played in my mind like a broken record. I couldn't deny the attraction I felt, but I also couldn't let it distract me from my goals
I closed my laptop and sank into the couch, staring at the darkened cityscape through the window. Collab with shekhawat Tech had been encouraging, but I couldn't shake the feeling that he was keeping his distance, perhaps intentionally.
My thoughts were interrupted by a soft knock on the door. Ritika entered, her face a mixture of concern and curiosity.
"Kaira, you've been working non-stop," she said, sitting down next to me. "Is everything okay?"
I sighed, rubbing my temples. "It's just... I can't stop thinking about Rishav. Seeing him again has stirred up so many emotions. I thought I was over it, but now I'm not so sure."
Ritika nodded, her eyes thoughtful. "I get it. It's hard when someone from your past comes back into your life, especially when there are unresolved feelings."
I nodded, feeling a pang of frustration. "The thing is, Rishav doesn't know about my feelings. He only sees me as Varun's sister. For him, this collaboration is just another business deal. But for me, it's so much more."
Ritika leaned closer, her expression sympathetic. "Maybe it's time to confront these feelings. It's not easy, but if you keep them bottled up, they'll only cause more pain."
I took a deep breath, considering her words. "You're right. I need to find a way to address this. But how?
Author's POV
The following day, Rishav sat in his sleek office overlooking the cityscape, reviewing the final details of the collaboration with Kaira's team. His mind, however, was not fully on the numbers or the strategic benefits. Instead, it was occupied by the image of Kaira from the party—the way her eyes had met his, the way her presence had stirred something inside him.
For years, Rishav had buried his feelings deep, focusing solely on his career and the responsibilities that came with it. His encounters with Kaira had always been cordial and distant, framed by the relationship he had with Varun. But the party had reawakened something he thought was long gone.
The collaboration with Kaira's brand was meant to be just another business opportunity, a chance to expand Shekhawat Tech's influence. Yet, Rishav found himself reflecting on his past, on the emotions he had tried so hard to suppress. Kaira's unexpected presence had stirred a sense of nostalgia and longing he hadn't felt in years.
He glanced at the framed photo on his desk, a reminder of the past he had carefully compartmentalized. It showed a younger version of himself, standing alongside friends and family, including Varun. Rishav's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Mr. Shekhawat, the team from Kaira's brand is here for the final review," his assistant announced.
Rishav nodded, trying to push aside his personal feelings and focus on the task at hand. He headed to the meeting room, determined to maintain his professional demeanor.
