You haven't ever Been the best at it" Nathaniel said to mavien, "well, I can always give it another try can I not?" Mavien said with an annoyed smile, Nathaniel chuckled, "alright~ let's go then" he said after mavien changed into some clothes more suitable for hunting, after that they both went into the forest, Nathaniel was already on high alert as mavien made sure to pay attention to everything, via had stayed with mavien's mother so now it was only Nathaniel and mavien, after a while they came upon some deer that were just eating, Nathaniel put in arrow into his bow and aimed for one of the deer, mavien paid close attention also putting an arrow into his own bow, and soon Nathaniel let go of the string, the arrow shooting into the deer's torso, Nathaniel glared, however mavien shot his own arrow which hit one of the same deer's legs as the other deer began running away, Nathaniel looked at mavien with an impressed look, "not bad" he said to mavien, mavien smiled as both quickly ran to the deer to quickly kill it before it could possibly try to run away, "let's head back now" Nathaniel said with a smile, "alright!" Mavien said cheerfully, mavien and Nathaniel soon began walking back with the dead deer, "hey brother, how many villages are nearby?" Mavien asked Nathaniel, "around..4...you know that we are in the middle of the forest, the closest town as I'm sure you remember is a three days away" Nathaniel said, mavien nodded, "three villages...which one is it that got destroyed?" Mavien thought to himself, he sighed as they got to the village and returned home to skin the deer and take the edible parts, mavien helped his brother as he began thinking about which village to go to first, however once they finished and left some meat to dry and then began taking a bit of the remaining meat to some other people in the village, since they couldn't finish all the deer meat alone in just one night, however while they gave the deer meat to some of the villagers, even if it were just a few other families, mavien soon began hearing some people talk about someone of another village "did you hear what happened to that dragon halfling?" One person said, as mavien passed by the people he quickly stopped and began listening in, "you mean about the life stock incident? I heard he allowed that villages entire life stock to get eaten by wolves during the festival of creation!" Another villager said, mavien listened in his eyes glowing as he began using a skill that heightened. All his senses, "I thought dragons even if they were halflings were strong...I can't believe he would allow such a thing to happen!" A villager said as mavien looked lost in thought but kept listening, "the village chief there punished him, but I feel bad for the people, I guess they will have a harsh winter..." One of the two villagers said, "I guess Lolokai village is really unlucky...I heard that village used be prosperous until a century ago when that dragon halfling was born.." the second villager sighed, mavien quickly stopped listening and began walking away as he felt he had enough information, mavien finished giving the needed deer meat before he went to his brother, "hey brother, I'm gonna take a walk through the forest, I'll be back later" mavien said to Nathaniel, "alright, but don't go fighting monsters! I know you well enough that you would likely begin looking for this forest local monsters and begin hunting em!" Nathaniel said, mavien chuckled nervously realising Nathaniel had figured out one of his plans, "d-dont worry! If I see a monster I will get away from it unless I have absolutely no choice but to fight!" Mavien said, Nathaniel sighed in relief, in the past in both life's, mavien and his sister would fight lower level monsters like goblins and slimes and the occasional wild kobold when they wanted a challenge for mavien, however after the incident that caused his sister's death mavien had gotten an obsession with fighting monsters and would fight any monster he came upon, to the point mavien even in his past life could fight att least 3 orcs who were C rank monsters on his own, and could fight iron back boars who were B rank monsters with ease, in the end even now mavien still had that same habit of fighting whatever the could to gain more experience and that was also the reason for why despite being a soldier, he knew how to fight monsters way too well, and even now as he walked through the forest to Lolokai village after talking to someone to get directions, he was keeping an eye out for monsters to get a good fight since he didn't want to stay still, however as he walked he realised that the further he went towards where lolokai village was located, that there were less and less monsters, when he had first entered the first he had seen a few horned rabbits which were common to the mathreux empire, and as he walked more he encountered a few kobolds, kobolds that were not from dungeons were significantly weaker so goblins and kobolds were often the first task of new adventurers, and mavien had fought them plenty of times so all he did was yawn as he instantly killed them, "so predictable" mavien thought to himself as a kobold attacked him head on with a blunt axe that had clearly been through a lot, mavien just side stepped and slashed the kobold before turning around and killing another kobold by stabbing it through the head from the bottom of its head to the top, mavien gave a bored look his emerald eyes shinning in the sun that shone through the leaves and onto the grass and dirt as he sighed and wiped his long sword before continuing his walk, "that's odd..why have I not been attacked anymore..?
