THE FIRST QUIDDITCH GAME

I was internally panicking. I kept control but I was so freaking nervous. It was the first match of the season! Marcus gave all of us a quick pep-talk before the game started, "Listen here, everyone! We won the Quidditch cup last year and plenty before that, but Gryffindor's new seeker shouldn't stop us from winning! High expectations, especially for you, Victoria. As our new chaser, we all expect highly of you."

I assured him and the team that I would do my absolute best during the game. We flew out onto the field and were met with a loud applause from the stands. I could see Draco, Daphne, Pansy, and even Crabbe and Goyle cheering. They were holding signs and waving Slytherin flags in our house colours. We hovered in a circle over the centre of the field above the Quidditch ball box. Madame Hooch stepped lively onto the field with a broom and ordered, "Now, I want a nice, clean game. From all of you," looking especially at the Slytherin boys on the team.

After a long pause, she kicked the box open, releasing the two, fast bludgers and the golden snitch. They soared off into the air and nobody moved. Madam Hooch took the quaffle and threw it up into the air, blowing the whistle. The game had officially started!

A Gryffindor dove for the ball, catching it and dodging the other players. She went straight for the Slytherin goal and made it through the centre hoop. The commentator, Lee Jordan, was shouting and applauding at her score, "Ten points for Gryffindor!" The Slytherins groaned.

I caught the quaffle with a Gryffindor heading straight toward me. I threw it to Marcus and he caught it, knocking a Gryffindor off her broom and diving for the goal. He throws and it gets blocked by the Gryffindor keeper, Oliver Wood.

Gryffindors pass the ball back to each other like a game of hot potato, while I'm trying to intercept the ball. They score once again, another ten points for Gryffindor. As Slytherin misses another shot, Marcus takes a beater's bat and swings a bludger at the keeper, knocking him through the hoop and fluttering to the ground unconscious.

Slytherin has the ball, specifically me. I pass it back and forth to the other teammate, Graham Montague, dodging the Gryffindor's hands. It flies through the one of the hoops and scores a goal. Ten points for Slytherin! The Slytherins in the stand screaming and cheering for us. Malfoy and Daphne cheering the loudest.

Then, Marcus and Adrian Pucey have the idea to sideswipe a Gryffindor with the quaffle and fly the girl into one of the stands' towers and she tumbles to the ground. Marcus forcefully takes the quaffle from her throwing it to back me. As I catch it, I'm already flying to the hoop and scoring another ten points for Slytherin. We are tied twenty-twenty.

Gryffindor has the ball again as I try to intercept it. I end up knocking the ball from one of the other Gryffindor chaser's hands and it drops straight into Adrian's hands. He spins around on his broom flicking the ball into the goal. We are now winning thirty to twenty.

Suddenly, Harry, Gryffindor's seeker, starts acting up and flying his broom wrong. I can't help him, so I keep trying to get the quaffle. The another Slytherin chaser scores 10 points for our team forty-twenty. As Harry fixes himself, we score another twenty points. Unexpectedly, Lee Jordan shouts, "He's got the Snitch! Harry Potter receives one-hundred fifty points for catching the Snitch!"

"Gryffindor wins!" Madame Hooch says blowing a whistle to end the game.

The Gryffindor team celebrates their victory One-hundred seventy to sixty as the Slytherins groan in frustration of losing. We Slytherins fly off the field, changing out of our gear and into our robes. I walk back to the common room in disappointment. Slytherin hasn't lost in a long time. But as I entered the common room, lots of Slytherins rushed to me to congratulate me on my first game plays. Our team didn't win but I scored many goals for us and that was enough.

Daphne hugged me, congratulating me. It felt good to be applauded. Daphne tried to comfort me despite us not winning. "It's okay, I'm sure you will win next time. I'm sure one of them cheated." Daphne swears. "Do you think it's illegal to stand on a broom to catch the Golden Snitch?"

"Daphne it's okay! I'm fine, you need to calm down girl," I assured. Trying to change the subject, I asked, "Hey, Daphne? Got any Christmas plans?"

"Yeah, I'm going home for the holidays. Sadly I won't get to see you, but before I leave, I will give you a present!" She hugged me tightly.

"Oh-Em-Gee, That is so nice of you, I actually have one for you too!" I surprised her.

"Oh-Em-Gee, really? This is so kind of you, Victoria! Can I know what it is?" Daphne asked, eager to know what I got her.

A while back, when I was in Diagon Alley, I bought a little, unknowingly, Slytherin charm that was a long green crystal that had a snake wrapped around it. I bought it for myself, but since she was my only friend, I gave it to her.

When I gave it to her she jumped in utter joy. She thought it was magnificent. She hugged me again, and we hurried to dinner. Daphne started showing off her necklace to everybody at the Slytherin table, where we had a delicious feast, again.
