GOODBYE TO ALL... FOR NOW
Everyone was rushing to the Hogwarts Express train to get back home to their families.
Draco, Daphne, one of Draco's other friends; Blaise Zabini, and I took an empty compartment in the far back to ourselves. We had a long conversation about everything that had happened this year. We had won the House Cup, I was in danger at times but survived, and I became a chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team. "And We passed our exams! We can officially be second-years at Hogwarts. And now after all that, we can go back to our homes and relax!" Draco added excitedly.
I had completely forgotten about my parents leaving me. I had to return home to pack up my things and leave.
I had the perfect idea, I would stay at the Leaky Cauldron until I can find a real home. Draco had noticed my disappointing expression, "What's wrong, Haynes? Aren't you excited to go home?"
I replied with sorrow in my voice, "A while back, before, I got a letter from my parents saying I was basically being evicted and disowned. I have to return home to pack up my things and get out."
Draco was shocked, "I'm so sorry. I didn't know! I wish I could help you out, but I don't think my parents, especially my father, would want you to stay with us."
"It's fine, Draco. I'm going to stay at the Leaky Cauldron until I can get back on my feet. It's also right next to Diagon Alley for everything I could possibly need" I said reassuringly. Daphne hugged me in support.
I didn't talk much to the group for the rest of the train ride. I was thinking about how I could get back on my feet. I have a lot of money to support myself, so maybe I will buy an average house, but it could have lots of guest rooms and fun things.
The train ride home was longer than normal, we passed many landscapes. Eventually, we made it back to London. We stopped back at King's Cross Station and got off. I waved goodbye to Daphne and helped my driver, Roger, grab my things. Draco's father was waiting for him, standing back-straight and a raised eye brow.
I wanted to have a word with Lucius. I began, respectfully, "Greetings Mr. Malfoy. Your son, Draco, is a magnificent student. This year, he helped me with some problems, but that's not why I'm here. I ask you kindly, if you would please, stop abusing him. He is a sweet kid, maybe a little rude at times, but you need to listen to him."
Draco smiled at my request and the remarks I made. He looked up at his father and mother for a response. Lucius rolled his eyes and nodded at Draco, "I suppose, maybe, I have been a little harsh on you, Draco. I will try to improve on my actions. You have a good summer, Miss Haynes."
"And Draco," I said, holding both his hands, "If you ever want to talk over the summer, I will be in the Leaky Cauldron in the most luxurious room. Thank you for everything!"
After I finished speaking I gave him a peck on the cheek, his father became shocked at my actions. I turned around with a grin and walked to the Rolls Royce, I got in and waved goodbye to Draco. He waved back with a dashing smile, and I started driving away.
After I went out of view, Draco had blushed and walked away, a pep in his step, with his father. I looked out the windows, watching the cars go by, thinking back at everything that has happened this year. A letter to a magic school, Slytherin house, the Sorcerer's Stone, the mysterious apple, mental infestations, and my friends and all that drama.
I long for my letter to attend my second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for another amazing school year.
THE END.
