So, to finally bring a conclusion to this flaccid story, we ought to flash to the future... technically the present. It had been 6 months since that whole shower fiasco and lets see how everybody's doing.

Devon found himself wanting to go off to pursue a higher education, possibly in college or university. He isn't quite sure what his future holds for him, nor does he have any idea what he wants it to look like. The only thing he's certain on is that he wants Jake to be there.

Devon had also decided to get treatment for his eating disorder and he is finally at a healthy weight, even if he's barely grasping it. Devon feels this sense of optimistic fear for the future but he knows to find every moment he has precious.

Jake found himself getting a job, getting minimum wage but it was something to do after school instead of sitting around all day, staring into a mirror trying to figure out who's staring back. He spent most of his time with Devon, and their relationship flourished. The toxicity was a distant memory and they found that they can be madly in love and still be their own respective people.

Jake had gone from therapist to therapist but none had really clicked for him yet but he's stopped self-harming so at least there's that. When thinking of his future Jake sees being a stay-at-home husband to look after his and Devon's kids whilst Devon is working his ass off at his high-pay job, but still being able to come home and cuddle with Jake whilst rewatching the Vampire Diaries.

Lexy spent most days with Elliot and they didn't really speak to anyone but each other anymore, rarely leaving the house unless it was to pick up food or substances. Elliot had essentially moved in and they both skipped school every day, until the police started banging down their door. They agreed to start going to school, just thankful that he didn't come inside to see all the drugs.

When Lexy thought of her future she realised she didn't want or have one. Her idea of the future was the same as the present, spending her days on drugs until she eventually died to an overdose or killed herself from the withdrawals and comedowns. Not one day goes by where she doesn't think of Nadine, sleeping with her bear each night.

Elliot's future was as dim as Lexy's. He pictured himself working every Monday to Friday just to blow all his money on the weekend benders with Lexy. He decided to stop having sex with random over-aged men and to focus more on his poor self-image.

Chucky had practically vanished off the face of the earth, and the trio were thankful of that but they can all say that it was the worst and best time of their lives. Perhaps someone else had taken care of Chucky, maybe like a brother and sister of sorts... or maybe Chucky was right. Maybe he always comes back.
