Back at Nevermore, Enid was finding it harder to shake the lingering feelings of being little. The combination of returning to school, dealing with new classes, and managing her emotions was making her feel more vulnerable than ever. Adding to this, Enid had started experiencing her wolf growing pains, a sign that she was finally nearing her first full wolf-out. It was a confusing and challenging time, especially since she was the last in her family to undergo this transformation.

One afternoon, as Enid sat in her dorm room surrounded by her favorite plushies and coloring books, she felt an uncomfortable pressure in her jaw. Her wolf teeth were coming in, and the pain was making her irritable and whiney.

Wednesday noticed Enid's discomfort and immediately went to her side. "What's wrong, little cub?" she asked, her voice gentle but firm.

Enid looked up, her eyes watery and her bottom lip trembling. "Mama, my teeth hurt," she whined, rubbing her jaw. "It's my wolf teeth. I think they're coming in."

Understanding the significance of this moment, Wednesday's expression softened. She took Enid's hand and led her to their shared bed, where she helped Enid get comfortable with her favorite blanket and pacifier.

"We'll take care of this, Eni," Wednesday assured her, brushing a stray tear from Enid's cheek. "Just relax and let Mama help."

Enid nodded, feeling slightly better with Wednesday's presence. She snuggled into her blanket, clutching her favorite stuffed wolf, and tried to focus on the comfort around her.

Wednesday quickly fetched a soft, cool teething ring from the drawer, one of the many little items they had stocked for Enid's age regression needs. She handed it to Enid, who began to chew on it immediately, her discomfort easing slightly.

As Enid chewed on the teething ring, Wednesday sat beside her, gently rubbing her back. "You're doing so well, little cub. This will pass soon."

Enid whined softly around the teething ring, feeling the pain but also the comfort of Wednesday's care. "It hurts, Mama," she murmured, her voice muffled.

"I know it does, sweetie," Wednesday said soothingly. "But you're strong, and you'll get through this. I'm right here with you."

The door creaked open, and Yoko and Davina stepped in, sensing that something was wrong. "Hey, what's going on?" Yoko asked, her eyes filled with concern.

"Enid's wolf teeth are coming in," Wednesday explained. "She's in a lot of pain."

Davina immediately went to Enid's side, taking her hand. "Oh, sweetheart, I'm so sorry. Is there anything we can do to help?"

Enid looked up at her friends, feeling a bit better with everyone around. "Just stay with me?" she asked softly.

"Of course, little cub," Yoko said, sitting down on the other side of the bed. "We're not going anywhere."

The three of them stayed with Enid, offering comfort and support as she worked through the pain. Yoko brought over a small bottle of cold water for Enid to sip on, while Davina found some soft music to play, hoping it would soothe her.

Enid shifted slightly, trying to find a comfortable position. "Mama, can you tell me a story?" she asked, her voice small and pleading.

Wednesday nodded, smiling softly. "Of course, Eni. How about the story of the brave little wolf who found her howl?"

Enid's eyes lit up with a mixture of excitement and relief. "Yes, please, Mama!"

Wednesday began to weave a tale, her voice calm and steady. She spoke of a young wolf who was the last in her pack to find her howl, but with the support of her loved ones, she discovered her voice and became the bravest wolf of all.

As the story unfolded, Enid's tension eased, and she felt more at peace. The presence of Wednesday, Yoko, and Davina, combined with the comforting tale, helped her endure the growing pains.

Hours later, the worst of the pain had passed. Enid was still feeling tender, but the teething ring and the love of her friends had made it bearable. She snuggled deeper into her blanket, her eyelids heavy with exhaustion.

"Thank you, Mama. Thank you, Mommy. Thank you, Ma," Enid mumbled sleepily, her voice filled with gratitude.

"You're welcome, little cub," Wednesday replied, brushing a kiss on Enid's forehead.

"Anytime, sweetie," Yoko added, squeezing her hand gently.

"Rest now, Enid. We're here for you," Davina said, her voice soothing.

With her family of caregivers by her side, Enid drifted off to sleep, feeling safe and loved. The road to her first wolf-out might be challenging, but with the support of those who cared for her, she knew she could handle anything.
