Chapter 10: Knowing the past

Chirag glanced at Rishi to see him lost, he shook him slightly, bringing Rishi out of his trance..

Chirag asked him what happened, simply by raising his eyebrows.
Rishi shook his head, it wasn't the right time..

Chirag took Rishi towards the back window, that opened in his bedroom directly...

They heard some noises nearing them, and increased their pace..

Soon they both were inside and Chirag locked the window..he also covered the curtains, leaving just one space for him to see the enemy nearing..

They hid in a corner of the room, behind the cupboard..

Chirag glanced back at the window, he could see two men come..

They neared the window and Chirag was about to come out when Rishi held his hand:"Pls don't go..aap apni team ko bula lo"

Chirag:"Bula liya hai, but they'll take some time..let me handle it Rishi, I'm an officer...you don't need to fear for me baccha"

He pressed a kiss on Rishi's forehead and went away before Rishi could stop him..

Rishi was overwhelmed by this gesture..
He felt relief and secure, that he had someone who would protect him..

He shrugged off his thoughts and stayed hidden, he was looking at Chirag, till he was in his line of sight..

Chirag shot at the two men quickly, injuring them on the shoulders..

He glanced out and stopped a guy's punch..

He twisted his hand and kicked him down..

He climbed down the window to check for other men..

He approached the corner of the house from where he would turn and get to the front again..

He raised his gun and came in the front, to see no one..

He scanned the background and saw the same car at which he had shot..

The car flashed lights on him and started coming nearer..

Chirag couldn't see anything because of the lights..

The car quickened and was about to hit him, when he jumped away, falling on the ground..

The headlights now faced Chirag's house door, and the car stopped..

Chirag dusted his clothes and stood up, aiming the gun at the driver of the car who just stepped out..

As he neared Chirag, Shamsher raised his hands in surrender..

Chirag saw the face and instantly recognised the inactive Mafia leader..

Shamsher raised his eyebrow:"You know me Chirag beta?"

Chirag:"Surrender karna tha toh police station jaate, yahan kyon aaye ho..why do you want to harm us?"

There was no fear or flicker in his voice..

Shamsher:"Why so formal Chirag....or should I say, Raunak?"

Chirag firmed his grip on the gun, knowing this was a distraction..

Shamsher came a step forward and Chirag loaded the gun..

Shamsher backed away, nodding:"Ok ok, but don't you want to know about your actual family?"

Chirag:"Shut up and get to your knees, or I'll shoot you down..."

Shamsher:"You can't kill me"

Chirag:"I can disable you by just one bullet, get down...NOW"
