Chapter 12: Sweet Moments

Rishi understood Chirag didn't want to open up, he knew Chirag had been forced to be this way and it wouldn't be easy to get him out of it. But he was determined to help his brother..the word sounded so good in his mind..

He sighed and spoke:"Accha, ab?"

Chirag gulped, and closed his eyes again..he counted till 10 and opened his eyes..

The visions of his past still roamed in his mind, but he was able to push them behind for now..

Chirag spoke, his voice much better than before:"Ab Shamsher se investigation hogi tab pata chalega humare parents ke baare mein, till then let's see...I also need to work on the current two cases.."

Rishi nodded:"Main koi help karun?"

Chirag shook his head:"That's confidential, you can't see that betaji.."

He patted Rishi's head, knowing he would think of sneaking a look into the investigation..

Rishi pouted:"Maine sirf help ka bola tha.."

Chirag folded his arms:"But I know you well, tujhe jaanna tha na, isliye na?"

Rishi looked away, whining, making Chirag laugh and side hug him..

Rishi smiled back and shook his head..

The truth somehow made them feel safe around each other, they trusted each other earlier too, but now all their inhibitions were gone, it made sense as to why they were so brotherly on the first day itself..

Rishi stirred in sleep as he heard something..

He heard that again and opened his eyes..

He looked around, but he was alone in the guest room..

He heard the scream again and sat up in surprise..

He understood Chirag was screaming, and so he rushed to his room..

He saw Chirag shaking his head, hiding himself in the duvet..

Rishi went closer and tried to pull the blanket down, Chirag pulled it closer and mumbled in fear:"No, pls pls not today.. I'll complete it tomorrow..pls leave me..pls"

He was shaking his head vigorously, he was sweating..
Rishi spoke softly:"Bhaiya it's me..Rishi.."

Chirag couldn't hear anything other than those memories..

"Chirag come outside, get the work done now.." shouted Shweta..

Chirag, merely 10 that time, was trying to hide away..
He didn't want another punishment for breaking the glass..

Suraj sighed in anger and went inside, he tried to pull Chirag back from the under the bed, he coowered back in fear..
He was shaking his head in tears:"No pls..main saaf kar dunga, pls mat maaro..pls"

Suraj ignored his pleas and finally dragged him out..
Chirag screamed in fear and tried to run, Suraj hit the ruler on him..

Suddenly he felt water splash on him..

Chirag sat up straight, gasping as Rishi threw water on his face..

The tears in his eyes ached Rishi's heart..

Chirag looked around in fear, but relaxed when he saw Rishi..

He sighed and rubbed his face, understanding that it was a nightmare. The talk with Rishi must have triggered him..

Rishi sat beside him:"Aap theek ho bhaiya?"

Chirag nodded looking away..
Rishi:"We're brothers right? Why are you hesitating with me Bhaiya?"

Chirag looked at him:"Rishi it's not like that, tu chota Bhai hai mera..how can I.. it's my responsibility to protect you, not burden you with my problems.."

Rishi hugged him to shut him:"Aap pagal ho, who told you that your problems are a burden..and I know elder brother ki responsibility hoti hai, but younger brother ki bhi toh hoti hai..ki jab bada Bhai kabhi problem mein ho toh vo use ek friend jaise support kar sake...aap meri responsibility tok nahi sakte.."

He broke the hug and glared at him:"Ok?"

Chirag nodded with a small smile..

Rishi's eyes twinkled with an idea:"Main garam dudh le aata hun, I've heard usse neend acchi aati hai"

Chirag tried to deny but Rishi didn't listen.. at the end, Chirag had to drink the whole glass and give a sweet sarcastic smile to Rishi:"Ho gya? Ab theek hai?"

Rishi nodded with a stoic face that he soon couldn't maintain and both burst out laughing...

Rishi then stood up and closed the room's lights, calling out a sweet Goodnight..

Chirag chuckled and slept, this time the fatigue and the milk too had relaxed his nerves and he was able to sleep..

Short chapter, but from the next part we surely begin back with the mystery of the two cases..
