They all laughed and agreed to plan on making Maeve fall for Azra. Their friend had been alone for a long time, and having someone by her side seemed like a good idea.

Days passed, and Maeve had been making every effort to avoid Azra. The redhead was always finding reasons not to ride with the professor to school and back home.

The incident that had happened between them left Maeve feeling embarrassed and unsure about facing Azra. She found herself constantly coming up with excuses to dodge interactions with the professor, hoping the awkwardness would fade over time.

One time, Maeve stood by her locker, hurriedly grabbing her books. She saw Azra approaching from the corner of her eye and quickly turned to head in the opposite direction.

"Maeve! Wait lang!" Azra called out.

Maeve pretended not to hear, picking up her pace and ducking into the nearest restroom. She leaned against the wall, heart pounding, hoping Azra hadn't followed her.

During lunch, Maeve sat with her friends at the far end of the cafeteria, keeping an eye out for Azra. When she saw her enter, Maeve quickly excused herself, claiming she had a meeting with a teacher.

"Chat nalang ako mamaya sa inyo ah. Una na 'ko," Maeve said, grabbing her tray and making a beeline for the exit.

Another time, Azra waited by the school entrance, knowing Maeve usually arrived around this time. Maeve spotted Azra from a distance and immediately changed her route, taking a longer path to enter through the back gate.

"Kahit saan nalang na nandun ako, nandun din siya," Maeve muttered to herself, frustrated.

After school, Maeve lingered in the classroom, pretending to be engrossed in her studies. She knew Azra often waited outside to offer her a ride home.

Her friend, Johansen, walked by and noticed Maeve's unusual behavior. "Maeve, bat nandito ka pa? Uwian na ah."

Maeve sighed, "may iniiwasan lang ako."

Johansen raised an eyebrow. "Sino? Si Ms. Ganda ba yan?"

Maeve nodded, "hmm oo, ang kulit eh. Tsaka ang awkward kasi."

"Bakit awkward?" Jo asked.

"Wala. Basta."

Present Time

It was already night time. Azra sat quietly in her room when she heard a knock on her door. She opened it to find her dad standing there, looking relaxed and tanned from his vacation.

"Dad, you're back!" Azra exclaimed, surprised.

"Just for a bit, sweetheart," her dad replied, stepping inside. "Babalik din ako agad. Your brother Michael will be in charge while I'm gone."

Azra frowned. "But if kuya Michael is already in charge, bakit pa po kayo bumalik? Sana tinuluy-tuloy mo na po ung vacation niyo."

Her dad's expression grew serious. "Gusto lang kitang iremind nang personal sa mission mo, Azrael. You need to make Maeve fall in love with you."

Azra's eyes widened. She had been having second thoughts about the mission. "Dad, do we really have to go through with this? Wala na po bang ibang paraan?"

Her dad shook his head. "It's pure business, Azra. You know that."

Azra's voice trembled slightly. "But dad, paano naman po si Maeve? Wala ba talaga siyang choice? Paano kung hindi mahulog ang loob niya sa 'kin?"
