Silence, only silence can be heard as everyone was quiet for a long time.
In the center of the couch sat Ruhanika with Ruhaan on her lap, clutching her phone with a mixture of anxiety and exhilaration.
Her eyes darted to the screen every few seconds, willing it to ring, while her other hand fidgeted with the edge of her t-shirt's sleeve.
Around her-Samriddhi, Priyanshu, Ridhima, Aarush, Pariniddhi, Sameer, Anshuman and Dhruvika-formed a semicircle, their faces mirroring her anticipation.
Each sibling held a piece of the collective hope and excitement that filled the room.
The scene was a portrait of modernity meeting tradition. While the older generation waited at the hospital, accompanying Devaansh, Aditya, Vihaan and Siddharth with his wife Akshita during the delivery, the younger ones stayed back at home, their connection to the unfolding miracle being a simple phone call away.
Despite the technological advancements, the emotions were timeless-a blend of nervous anticipation, boundless love, and unwavering support for one another.
Ruhanika's phone buzzed, snapping her out of her thoughts. The room fell silent, the only sound being the soft rustle of clothing as everyone leaned in closer.
She glanced at the screen; it was a message from Aditya.
"We are in the delivery room. Any moment now." A collective gasp followed, and Ruhanika relayed the message to everyone, their faces lighting up with smiles and a few anxious chuckles.
Suddenly, the phone rang. Ruhanika's heart leapt to her throat as she saw Vihaan's name flashing on the screen. She took a deep breath and answered, her voice trembling with anticipation.
"Vihaan Bhai, is everything okay?" Vihaan's voice came through, brimming with joy and relief.
"Ruhi, it's a girl!"
The words hung in the air for a split second before they registered. And then, like a dam breaking, the room erupted in cheers.
"It's a girl! It's a girl!" The siblings jumped to their feet, hugging each other, their voices rising in a chorus of happiness and celebration.
"Champ, you become a big brother." Saying this Ruhanika hugged Ruhaan in excitement.
The room was filled with the sounds of laughter, cheering, and the joyous chaos that only a close-knit family can create.
As the initial wave of celebration subsided, Ruhanika put the phone on speaker, and this time Agastya Vihaan's big brother and Avantika's husband's voice filled the room.
"She's beautiful, just like her mother. Both Avantika and the baby are doing well." A collective sigh of relief followed his words.
"Congratulations Agastya Bhai." The siblings gathered around the phone, their voices overlapping as they showered Agastya with congratulations and questions.
"What does she look like? How's Avantika dii feeling? Have you decided on a name?" Agastya chuckled, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love.
"She has Avantika's eyes and a head full of hair. Avantika is tired but so happy. And as for the name, we have a few in mind, but we wanted to discuss it with all of you first."
This announcement led to another flurry of suggestions and debates, each sibling offering their favorite names, trying to find the perfect one for the newest member of the family. The discussion was lively, filled with playful banter and affectionate teasing.
