Dear Journal,

I'm sitting in my car, rain tapping softly on the windshield, waiting for May.

The radio is playing some of my favorite songs, adding to the cozy atmosphere inside the car. It's Sunday, and May suggested we take the day off to rest since we've been working late nights recently. I couldn't help but agree; a day away from the office sounds perfect.

Today, we're going to a botanical garden. It's a place I've had my eye on ever since I attended a wedding there for one of my mentors. The beauty and tranquility of the garden left a lasting impression on me, and I've wanted to return ever since. May doesn't know this yet—it's a surprise, and just thinking about her reaction makes me feel giddy.

Before I left my apartment, Carla contacted me with some news that one of the assistants had quit. The timing was less than ideal, and I felt a bit irritated. Still, I told her to let it go. She agreed but mentioned that something felt off. I trust Carla's instincts, but today I want to focus on the positive. Everything has been going so well for me lately, and while part of me is waiting for the other shoe to drop, I'm trying to stay optimistic.

My therapist always tells me to think positively, and although I'm skeptical, I figure if May can do it, so can I.

The rain continues to fall steadily, creating a soothing backdrop to my thoughts.

I see May approaching, and she has coffee for me!

Her smile is the highlight of my day,

Im so damn lucky.

Got to go. I have to be a wonderful boyfriend right now.

Much to do,

- Alexander
