Dear Journal,
Tonight, May and I went to a costume party hosted by a famous celebrity who's a big fan of Haus of Lyon. May picked our costumes—Fred and Daphne from Scooby Doo.
She found it hilarious, and I went along with it because, honestly, I love this woman too much to say no.
The party was just a press event disguised as an elite gathering, but May pulled me into the crowd to dance. I've never really liked clubs, but dancing with May in this crowd as club music blared made it seem fun, almost magical. For a moment, I forgot about the flashing cameras and the who's-who of the elite.
After a while, I leaned in and asked if we should leave. She smiled and agreed, and we slipped out of the party, heading home. We ordered takeout and watched reruns of old shows, still in our costumes. I took off the itchy wig, grateful to be back in comfortable surroundings.
Work can wait until after the weekend. Tonight, it's just us. As May cuddled up next to me, I realized how much I cherish these simple moments.
They make everything else worth it.
Much to do,
Alexander
