Dear Journal,
The year is coming to a close, and what a year it has been. Tonight, we attended a New Year's Eve party similar to the one I went to a year ago, but this time, May was by my side. She looked absolutely radiant in a gold and blue floor-length gown, shimmering like a star. I wore a suit that matched her dress, complete with the blue tie she gave me for Christmas. At first, I thought matching outfits might be tacky, but as the night went on, I realized just how perfect it felt. We both looked stunning, like stars meant to shine together.
We danced the whole night away, lost in each other's presence. The countdown began, and as everyone around us watched the clock tick down, I found myself watching May. She looked so beautiful, so full of life and love.
As the final seconds approached, I took a deep breath and got down on one knee. The room grew louder, but all I could focus on was her. I stumbled over my words, nerves getting the better of me, but I managed to ask her to marry me. Just as the clock struck midnight, May said yes. The moment she said that one word, I felt an overwhelming rush of joy and relief.
We kissed as the new year arrived, a promise of a future together sealed with that kiss. Around us, everyone celebrated the start of a new year, but for May and me, it was more than that. We were celebrating our love and the golden future we've carved out for ourselves.
This year has been full of ups and downs, but as I look forward to the next, I know that with May by my side, there's nothing we can't face together. Here's to the future and to a love that only grows stronger with each passing day.
Happy New Year.
Much to do,
Alexander
