The sun set over Sunagakure, casting long shadows across the village's sandstone buildings. The streets buzzed with the last activity of the day as vendors closed their stalls and children returned home. In the centre of the village, the Kazekage's office loomed large. Inside, Kazekage Rasa sat at his desk, looking tired and frustrated. Papers were scattered everywhere, detailing the many problems facing the village: border conflicts, resource shortages, growing unrest, shortage in manpower, the orphanages flooding with children and worst of all was the wind daimyo. Rasa thought 'that fat pig of a daimyo took many of our mission to Konoha while also shorting the funds meant for us, I should kill him, no, I will kill him'. Rasa rubbed his temples, trying to ease his headache. While also trying to think this rationally. However, a sudden knock on the door broke his thoughts. He straightened up, pushing aside his fatigue. There was no time to rest; Sunagakure needed him, this war had really weakened it.In a random orphanage somewhere. Kantomaru's screams pierced the evening air, raw and desperate. He thrashed on the ground, his body convulsing as if battling an unseen force. Just moments ago, he had been laughing and playing with his friends right outside the orphanage, the carefree sounds of their game filling the air. Now, terror gripped his friends, their faces pale and eyes wide with fear.
"Help! Someone help!" shouted Sora, his voice shaking as he backed away. His friend Yumi stood frozen, hands clasped to her mouth, unable to tear her eyes away from Kantomaru's struggle.
"What's happening to him?" whispered Daichi, stepping back with trembling legs.
"Go get Miss Hana!" Sora yelled to another boy, who immediately bolted towards the orphanage, feet pounding against the dusty ground.
Inside, the caretaker Hana was sorting through supplies when the boy burst in, breathless and wide-eyed. "Miss Hana! It's Kantomaru! Something's wrong with him!"
Hana dropped what she was doing and rushed outside, her heart pounding with dread. As she approached, she saw Kantomaru's wild eyes and contorted face. She knelt beside him, trying to soothe him, but his screams only grew louder as the unseen force continued its relentless assault on his soul.
A few hours later. What happened? Where am I? Why is it so hot? The boy thought to himself. Then suddenly he saw two children running towards him.
"Kantomaru! You're awake! How's your head? You were screaming like someone had just hit you with a hammer," said the first child.
"Yeah, you were," added the second child.
The boy was confused by who they were and who Kantomaru was. Then it suddenly hit him, and he thought. 'Wait, no. I remember them: Sora and Yumi. Those are their names. And I'm Kantomaru, I somehow remember that'.
Instantaneously snapping out of his train of thoughts, Kantomaru rapidly replied, "Yes, I'm fine, thank you. Now i just have a little headache and need some time to rest."
"Okay, we will let you rest. Get well soon," said Sora.
After the two left, the director of the orphanage, which Kantomaru remembered as a tall benevolent man who was eager to help children, when possible, entered and asked how he was doing. After answering a few of his questions, the director left. Kantomaru took some time to assemble his thoughts.
Kantomaru thought. 'Okay, so I'm in the body of a four-year-old child with white hair, a bit tanned with amber eyes and has the build of a stick, I'm also in an orphanage in a place called Sunagakure. Hmmm, where have I heard that name before?' Immediately, his heart dropped. 'Of all places I could've been brought to, why this cursed and hellish world? I don't understand. Was I a bad person? What did I do to deserve this? I paid my tithe in church; I gave money to charity. Hell, I even hugged and comforted an autistic kid after he slapped me, spat on my face, tripped me, and let his yellow juices out all over my face.'
'Okay, so I have to think this through carefully. This is a world where the leaders are legally racist to their peoples for having so-called cursed eyes and holding an ancient grudge against their dead leader. It's also a world where people seem to think it's intellectually wise to bully, isolate, and attack a kid who holds the strongest beast in the world. Lastly, it's also a world where aliens can come and put you in eternal slumber for the noble cause of 'world peace.' Oh boy, I'm in trouble. I need a plan. First, I need to find my chakra.'
