Ekansh was about to bid me goodnight, but a sudden phone ringtone stopped him in his tracks.

The sound lasted for only three seconds before fading away. I knew exactly where it came from.

Ekansh turned back slowly, his eyes scanning the room in confusion before settling on me.

"What was that sound?" he asked, his brow furrowed.

I let out a sigh, shaking my head in disbelief. "You should get some rest, Ekansh. I think your ears are playing tricks on you," I said, patting his shoulder.

But Ekansh was insistent. "No, I'm telling you, I heard something!" he exclaimed.

I gave him a knowing look. "Ekansh, I told you, there's nothing going on," I said firmly.

Ekansh rolled his eyes at me and went out.

I closed the door behind him.

"Come out", I said, my voice firm and detached.

She emerged from the washroom, her eyes darting around the room.

"Has he left?", she asked, her voice laced with a hint of uncertainty.

I didn't respond. Instead, I walked towards her, my strides purposeful. I stopped in front of her, my eyes narrowing slightly. She flinched, but I didn't react.

Her gaze met mine, and for a moment, we just stared at each other. Her eyes were piercing, and I felt myself getting lost in their depths. I tried to look away, but I couldn't. It was like I was trapped.

My inner voice screamed at me to stay away, to keep my distance. But my body seemed to have a mind of its own. I felt myself leaning in, drawn to her like a magnet.

I didn't want her around me. I didn't want to get tangled in her web. But my heart betrayed me, pounding in my chest like a drum. I clenched my jaw, trying to regain control.

But it was too late. I was already lost. Lost in her eyes, lost in her presence. I didn't know how to escape.

Isn't she is your earing girl?

My inner voice whispered to me.

No!! She is not, she can't be, I thought, trying to convince myself.

She was different, unique. She was the first woman in my life who had a hold on me, who could control me, rule over me, need me, want me.

But now, my feelings were getting distracted by this motor mouth.

I couldn't be selfish with my earring girl.

"Leave from here", I finally said, breaking the silence.
