!TW !
7:34.
My alarm didn't go off. Again. This is the third time I've forgotten my alarm this month. Hopefully there's no traffic, my dad would not be happy to hear about my attendance dropping. Between skipping class, sleeping in, or just not showing up, I have sixteen absences so far this year.
I throw on a camo sweatshirt, carefully sliding it over my arms. I grab some jean shorts that would probably get anybody else dress coded, but my teachers gave up on fixing my clothes. Plus, some of the teachers are lowkey creepy, and they always compliment me when I wear revealing stuff.
I open up my window attentively, making sure nobody hears me leave. If my dad heard that I was still here, I'd get a hard beating. I jump down, landing on my feet in a pile of mud. It must've rained yesterday. The mud splashes up to my mid calf, staining my new shoes. Shit.
The rain drops on my car confirm my suspicions on the rain. I hop in and start the car, which starts revving loudly.
"Damn It! Your gonna get me caught!" I yell to my car, as if it would change anything.
Finally, it quiets down and I can drive away. The schools' only about four minutes away, so as long as nobody gets in my way, I should be there in time. Usually people get out of my way pretty quickly.
---------------
It's 7:56 when I arrive at school. Four minutes to walk to science. Easy, since my legs are longer than average. The door beeps as I walk in, a safety protocol they put in last year. As if they actually cared if we were safe. This place is hell on earth.
A group of juniors whisper as I walk by, and I respond by flipping them off. They stopped whispering after that.
The bell rings right before I get to the class. That shouldn't matter, right? Wrong. I open the door and everyone looks at me.
"Reputation, your late again. For the second time this week." Mrs. Windsor reminds me. "I'm going to have to have a talk with your parents if you keep this up." SHIT! She can't do that, right? They already hate me enough, I can't disrupt their day by a phone call from a teacher.
I want to scream and cry and beg for forgiveness, but instead, I roll my eyes and reply with a "Mhm. I know. Didn't need the reminder." and go to my seat, which is taken by an unfamiliar face.
I stand by my seat, hoping she would get the memo, but she doesn't budge. In fact, she has the audacity to wave at me. I set my stuff on the desk, expecting her to move like anyone else does. When she doesn't even move a muscle, I feel my fists tighten.
"Rep, just sit over here today. No need to bother her." Comes from behind me. I would be totally fine sitting next to 1989, but I can't be seen just letting her get away with it. People might think they can get away with anything. And its kill or be killed here, and I'm not prey.
I turn around and shake my head at nine, who sighs, knowing I'm about to fight with someone. "Move." I say to the girl in my seat, whose face is now blocked by her blonde bangs. My foot slams on the seat, right next to her leg to get her attention. It works, and she flinches, staring up at me with doe eyes filled with tears.
"I-I'm sorry, I'll move. I didn't know this was your seat." She stammers and throws her body off of the seat, quickly removing everything from the desk. Finally. I sit down and get my phone out of my pocket, scrolling through Instagram and sending snaps to people.
-Third Period-
I'm just starting to fall asleep when a paper airplane hits me in the head from behind. I pick it up and turn around, where nine is staring at me, using her hands to tell me to unfold the paper.
