Chapter 44: the hotel checkup

It was august, meaning that school was opening back up, max's last school year was beginning, and max was feeling really anxious as it was the day Charlie's relatives visit the hotel to see if redemption was possible.
Currently, he was getting ready by putting on an aloha shirt over his regular shirt as a way to look a bit more professional for Charlie's relatives.
"Okay, this should be good enough." Said max, looking at himself in the mirror.
And with that, max left his house and went over to the hotel where Charlie and the others were anticipating the arrival of her relatives.
"So, what time are they supposed to come?" Asked max, looking at the clock on his phone.
"They should be coming any minute now." Said Charlie.
Just as Charlie spoke, a portal from the heavenly islands had opened and god and the rest of Charlie's relatives came walking through, with max and the others greeting them as they walked in.
"Nice to see that you all made it. I hope that someone here is good enough for redemption to be possible." Said max.
"Don't worry, we'll let you know who's redeemable." Said god.
With that, god began talking to each of the hotel's residents to tell which one was actually redeemable, and after a bit he was able to write down some results and was ready to present them after he checked each resident out.
"Okay so I have completed my notes, and the results prove that redemption is one hundred percent possible." Said god, showing off the notes that he had written down.
Charlie was excited when god said that redemption was possible, so she went and gave her grandfather a hug and thanked him for checking if her ideas of redemption truly were possible.
"So, now that we know that redemption is possible, what else do we have to do?" Asked max.
"Well, we're just gonna make sure things are going good at least once a month and bring anyone that's fully redeemed to the heavenly islands." Said god.
"That's good, but how are you gonna know who's fully redeemed?" Asked max.
"Since I can sense who is redeemable, that can be how you all know who is next to be redeemed." Said god.
"That actually might work." Said Charlie.
Unfortunately, little did max and the others know that they were being watched by d.h.o.r.k.s., who were near one of the hotel's windows wanting to catch any proof of the supernatural.
"Alright, we've made it to their house. We should get them now." Said agent one.
"Wait, the angel that flash-banged us is also here. Shouldn't we be careful?" Said agent two.
"You're right, we should at least get proof of this happening since all our files were deleted after we got flash-banged." Said agent one.
"You know I can hear you, right?" Said god, who appeared behind the agents.
Both of the agents were shocked when god showed up behind them, as they thought they were sure that he was with max and the others.
"What in the world are you doing here?" Asked god, staring down both agents in the face.
The two d.h.o.r.k.s agents were scared out of their wits and shivering as they were face to face with what they assumed to be related to Michael, who was the one who flash banged the agents.
"Trying to stop demons from invading." Said agent one, albeit reluctantly.
"Yeah, we want to prevent them from killing people." Said agent two.
God immediately facepalmed, as he realized that they were crazy government agents obsessed with the supernatural to an unhealthy degree, so he went and left them to tell max and the others that the d.h.o.r.k.s agents were stalking them.
"Hey Michael, remember those agents that you helped save max from? Turns out they're stalking us, so I suggest we deal with them." Said god.
"Oh, not those assholes again." Said max, annoyed at the d.h.o.r.k.s agents returning.
"Unfortunately yes, and it appears that they think you're all wanting to kill people." Said god.
"Are they fucking serious? That makes no sense at all and I think we should do something about it." Said max.
"I agree, but what do we even do?"asked Charlie.
"We either kick their collective asses or make them leave us alone." Said Michael.
"Alright then, I'll get some music going. Hope you all like a bit of rock." Said max.
With that, max went off to get some music ready for them to confront the d.h.o.r.k.s agents to make them leave them alone.

As the music was playing, max and the others went to confront the d.h.o.r.k.s agents for basically trespassing on their property and being a general nuisance to them, and when they confronted the agents they were able to easily disarm the agents since they were still using samurai weapons to fight with, so the confrontation was less of a massive battle and more like trying to knock out someone with a wiffle ball bat.
After half an hour of dealing with the d.h.o.r.k.s agents, max and the others ended up being the victors with the agents down and being stared at by god, along with max and the others.
"Now I'm going to make this clear to you both. Leave us alone. This isn't some scheme of demonic invasion, this is a hotel for helping people. So the next time you try something like this again, we'll be ready for you." Said Charlie, who was dead serious.
Scared out of their minds, the two agents immediately ran off back to their base, while max and the others watched them leave feeling satisfied.
"Okay Charlie, after much consideration I've decided to completely endorse the Hazbin Hotel and you can consider the exterminations officially cancelled." Said god.
"Thank you so much." Said Charlie, who had a smile.
"Now that the hotel has passed, let's have a bit of rest." Said max, who was exhausted from the confrontation.
"Yes, let's do that." Said god.
And so, max and the others spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching a few movies like terminator 2 and the first Sam Raimi spider man, and when the movies were finished Charlie's relatives went back to the heavenly islands and max went to bed feeling glad that the deadline had passed and Charlie's relatives approved the hotel.
