Author's pov..

Felix was hunched over their open suitcase, methodically folding clothes and placing them inside. He glanced over at Hyunjin, who was busy organizing their travel-sized toiletries. The room was a flurry of activity, as if every corner was brimming with excitement for their upcoming adventure.

“Do you think we’ve packed everything we need?” Felix asked, his tone filled with both anticipation and a hint of anxiety.

Hyunjin looked up from the toiletries and smiled. “I’m sure we have everything. If not, we can always buy it there.” He took a step closer to Felix, his gaze softening. “Besides, we’ll be so busy exploring, I doubt we’ll need half of this stuff.”

Felix chuckled and straightened up, his eyes meeting Hyunjin’s. There was a moment of silence as they both seemed to savor the intimacy of their shared space. The world outside felt distant and unimportant in this bubble of their own making.

Hyunjin took another step closer, their faces nearly touching. Felix's heart raced as he could feel the warmth of Hyunjin's breath against his skin. Their eyes locked, and Felix's lips parted slightly, anticipating the kiss they had both been inching toward.

Just as their lips were about to meet, Felix's phone rang loudly, shattering the fragile moment. He pulled away, visibly startled, and reached for his phone.

“It’s Jisung,” Felix said apologetically as he glanced at the screen and then looked back at Hyunjin.

“Go ahead, answer it,” Hyunjin said, a hint of teasing in his voice.

Felix nodded, his face flushed with a mix of frustration and embarrassment. He stepped out of the room to take the call, leaving Hyunjin alone with the suitcase.

Hyunjin watched Felix leave, a sly smile forming on his lips. He couldn't help but replay the moment in his mind, the almost-kiss hanging in the air like a tantalizing tease.

When Felix returned to the room, he found Hyunjin leaning casually against the wall, a playful smirk on his face.

“Everything okay?” Hyunjin asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

“Yeah, it was just Jisung checking in,” Felix replied, trying to regain his composure. “Sorry about that.”

Hyunjin leaned in closer, his gaze dropping to Felix’s lips. “You know,” he began softly, “when I leaned in before, I noticed something.”

Felix blinked, confused. “Noticed what?”

“You closed your eyes,” Hyunjin said, his voice a gentle tease. “You were waiting for the kiss, weren’t you?”

Felix’s cheeks turned a deeper shade of red as he stammered, “I—uh—was, but—”

Hyunjin’s smile grew wider as he closed the distance between them once more, his eyes glinting with a playful challenge. “Looks like someone’s eager to win our bet.”

Felix’s heart raced, a mixture of embarrassment and awkwardness making his voice tremble slightly. “You know, I was just caught off guard.”

Hyunjin’s face was now mere inches from Felix’s, the air between them electric. The moment seemed to stretch out, every second an exhilarating tease. Felix could feel Hyunjin’s breath against his skin, and he closed his eyes again, bracing for what he thought would be the inevitable kiss.

But just before their lips touched, Hyunjin pulled back slightly, a knowing smile on his face. “Guess we’ll have to save that kiss for another time.”

Felix’s eyes fluttered open, and he let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “who said i wanna kiss you?”

Hyunjin’s teasing demeanor softened as he playfully bumped shoulders with Felix. “you don’t have to be shy about that , i'm gonna give you everything you want ”

Felix managed a shaky smile, the awkward tension between them giving way to an uneasy camaraderie.

In a different apartment, Yeunjun and Soobin were in the middle of their own domestic drama. Their kitchen was cluttered with dishes from the night before, and the air was thick with tension.

“Soobin, can you please stop being so dramatic?” Yeunjun snapped, his frustration evident.

“I’m not being dramatic,” Soobin retorted, his voice rising. “I asked you to do the dishes, and you didn’t. Now I have to deal with this mess.”

Yeunjun threw his hands up in exasperation. “I’ve been working all day! I don’t see why you can’t handle it.”

“So you think I have all the time in the world?” Soobin shot back. “You knew I’d be the one cooking if you didn’t do the dishes. Now I’m not going to cook for you.”

Yeunjun’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Are you seriously saying you’re not going to cook just because I didn’t do the dishes?”

“Yes,” Soobin said firmly, crossing his arms. “It’s a simple matter of responsibility. If you can’t do your part, I’m not doing mine.”

The argument, while heated, was ultimately about mundane household chores. The two of them continued to bicker, their voices rising and falling in the familiar rhythm of a couple who knew how to fight but also how to make up.

Eventually, Yeunjun sighed and conceded. “Fine, I’ll do the dishes. But this time, you’re cooking.”

Soobin nodded, his irritation fading. “Deal. And next time, just remember—chores are a two-way street.”

Yeunjun grinned, though the tension lingered slightly. “Agreed. Let’s just get this over with.”

As they moved toward the sink, the argument ended as it often did—with a mutual understanding and a shared sense of humor. Their disagreement, though heated, was just another part of their everyday life together.

And so, as Felix and Hyunjin navigated their awkward moment with the undercurrent of a playful bet, Yeunjun and Soobin navigated the routine of their own shared space, each moment a testament to the different ways people handle the challenges of love and companionship.
