Felix lay on his bed with his head resting in his mother's lap, trying hard to keep his breathing steady. He didn't want anyone to see how deeply he was hurting, and he forced himself to push back the tears that threatened to spill over. His mother stroked his hair gently, sensing that it wasn't just about Hyunjin, but unable to pinpoint the source of his pain.
After a while, his mother gently excused herself, leaving Felix alone. As the door clicked shut, Felix's composure crumbled. He sat up slowly, his face now streaked with tears, and shut the door behind him. Sliding down to the floor, he leaned against the bed, letting the sobs wrack his body. The tears flowed freely now, each one a release of the pain and confusion he was feeling.
His mind was a tumultuous storm. Jun Seo’s sudden return had shattered his world, reopening old wounds he had thought he had healed. The weight of that alongside the need to distance himself from Hyunjin was almost unbearable. The lies he told, the need for separation – all of it felt like a heavy burden. He had cut Hyunjin off not because of his feelings for him, but because he couldn’t bear to drag him into the chaos caused by Jun Seo. Felix needed time to sort out his life, but it pained him deeply to know that in doing so, he was causing Hyunjin distress.

Meanwhile, in the different house, Hyunjin sat on the edge of the bed, clutching Felix’s pillow as if it could bring him comfort. His heart ached knowing that Felix was struggling, and he was helpless in his desire to support him. Hyunjin wanted nothing more than for Felix to be happy and safe, but the distance and the separation felt like an unbearable weight.
After crying for what felt like hours, Hyunjin took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He knew what he had to do. Despite the pain of being cut off, he understood that Felix needed him now more than ever. He resolved to support Felix through this turmoil, even if it meant standing on the sidelines for a while. Hyunjin would be there for him, ready to help him navigate this challenging time. If Felix found happiness and asked him to go away, Hyunjin would accept it. But for now, Felix was hurting, and Hyunjin wasn’t going anywhere.
