Chapter 18

We enter the palace later in the evening. As we walk through we see gold, red, and green everywhere. We all gasp at the beauty of the palace.

"Look at that." Kai exclaims 

"I already feel royal." Jay chimes in

"It's beautiful." Zane says

"Yeah, I could really get used to living in a place like this." Cole smiles. 

"Well, don't. We're only here as guests, then back to protecting Ninjago." I remind them. 

"Hmph. Too much gold in my opinion." Nya says. 

We continue to walk through the palace as we enter the throne room. 

"I present to you the exalted Emperor and Empress of Ninjago, the Golden Princess, Princess Harumi, and the Jade Princess, Princess Azalea." Hutchins introduces us. 

"We are honored by your presence." The Emperor says.

"The honor is all ours." I reply. 

"I have read much about you.-" Princess Harumi starts. 

"Here we go." Princess Azalea, the one I was staring at, says rolling her eyes. 

"Azalea. Shush. And be nice there are guests here now." The empress says glaring at the beautiful princess. 

She doesn't reply but glances at her sister to continue. She then looks at us ninja, and we make eye contact until Princess Harumi stops in front of me, breaking it. 

"And Master Lloyd, the Green Ninja. The youngest but most powerful protector. The chosen one. I too have lost my parents along with my sister..." She points to her sister on the throne who is now rolling her eyes looking anywhere but in my direction. I also see a faint blush on her cheeks. too. 

"Uh, heh?" Jay questions

"...but we're both without family, hm?" Princess Harumi says. 

"We adopted both Harumi and Azalea, and raised them as our own." The Empress explains while Jay looks confused. 

"When Harumi's parents passed away, and..." The emperor speaks as he looks at Azalea. 

"I was told to shush." Princess Azalea shrugs with a smirk. A smirk that seems familiar, but I push that aside since she looked kinda cute when saying that.

"Thank you for inviting us into your home." I say changing the topic. 

"It wasn't us. It was our daughter." The Emperor says pointing to Princess Harumi.

"And she would like you to stay with us, until the threat to our throne is over." The Empress smiles. 

"But I can handle some gang members." Princess Azalea exclaims glaring at her adopted parents. 

"You need to train more Azalea, and maybe the ninja while they are here can help." The Emperor says with hopeful eyes on us ninja.  "These are troubling times, and as long as we have an Oni Mask, we fear our lives are in jeopardy. And Azalea has a long way to go, so some help with her training would be amazing." 

"The masks must never be reunited. Please say yes." Princess Harumi begs. 

"Then you have our help, with the mask and the princesses's training." I smile. 

"Great. Then Mr. Hutchins can show you the palace." Princess Harumi waves Hutchins over.

"Actually Harumi, we wanted Azalea to give the tour." The empress says as Princess Azalea gets up.
