Chapter 16

It felt like years pasted by waiting for the call, but it was only a day in reality. Nya called to tell me to come in and I went over quickly. After telling my parents of course, I quickly arrived. Nya informed me of what has happened since I've been gone. When I asked why I was not called in sooner to deal with the trucks she told me Lloyd said to not bother me just yet, he also said that there were 12 trucks not 13. I have a feeling there is more of a reason for this but I push it aside. She also told me the drama that went on involving the elders surrounding us. I just acted shocked like I didn't know that was gonna happen but I also already knew the information. The masters are returning soon from the trucks. As soon as I saw Lloyd I grabbed him and hugged him tightly.

"Glad you're safe Lloydie and don't sweat about being tricked. You did your best, and now we can fight together." I whisper in his ear as he hugs me tighter.

I know Lloyd will get in his head about this sooner or later, so I got to reassure him that it's ok. He can get a bit anxious from making mistakes sometimes and I know this. I make sure he has a shoulder to lean on if needed. (I feel like Lloyd would do this when he doesn't complete a mission. Sry!)

"Thanks Lee." Lloyd says as he pulls away with a smile. He walks towards Garmadon while I take  a seat.

"So why were we asked here? We should be fighting snakes." Turbo Turd asks.

"Because anyone can fight. Only one side can declare victory." Wu educates. 

"In the time it took you to get here, Chen has taken over the entire Eastern seaboard and is moving inland. With each village destroyed, they grow stronger." Nya says showing us the map with red dots on it.

"That's a lot of red. Karlof not like red." Says Karlof in 3rd person again.

"How are we supposed to stop them? Most of us have lost control of our Dragons, not to mention we're outnumbered ten to one." Gravis complains. 

"Actually, 62.4 to one." Zane educates.

"Look, I'm scared like the rest of you. It may look like we've lost, but it's not over. When we thought we lost Zane, it nearly tore us apart. But we didn't quit. We let it fuel us. We grew stronger." Lloyd says surprisingly wisely. 

"Let your trauma make you stronger not weaker. Wise words from a god."I say smiling.

"Lee.." Lloyd shakes his head with hand on it looking down. "No.. You're not a god..."

"There's hope. The Corridor of Elders." Wu shows us canyon map on the screen and directing our attention else where. 

"Corridor of Elders?"

" I know we don't stand much of a chance taking on his entire army at once, but after he's controlled the East, he'll move West tomorrow and have to pass through Echo Canyons. Our best tactical position is to make our stand where it bottlenecks: here, at the Corridor of Elders, the monuments honoring our ancestors. It's the narrowest channel, but our greatest chance." 

"If we can't stop them here, the rest of Ninjago will fall like dominos." Garmadon says.

"Karlof not like to lose. Karlof fueled!" Karlof yells

"Then we have one day to save tomorrow." Wu says as everyone cheers and start discussing where they are going to go to ask for help from the citizens. 

"Hey I'm gonna make a call!" I yell walking outside the base. I pull out my phone and dial my father.

"Hello daughter, what is the problem?" Father says through the phone.

"Can I borrow some of the royal guard army thing? I can never remember which is which." I roll my eyes.

"Army is an organized military force equipped for fighting on land. A guard is a person who keeps watch, especially a soldier or other person formally assigned to protect a person or to control access to a place."
