Being back at school is a wonderful feeling, surprisingly. With Robby now being back at school with me, it's even better. The first day went as smoothly as it possibly could've gone, infinitely better than last year- although that bar is so low that it's practically a tripping hazard in hell.
Going back and forth between my apartment and my house is a great setup. I get to be close to Robby and Miguel on the weekdays, and on the weekends I get to spend time with my new family. It's an all around win. Abuelita surprised me at the TKDAV after party the LaRussos had for me by telling me she was planning on coming to the Sekai Taikai, even if it's all the way across the world. I'm ecstatic. Having Abuelita there even though she could just watch it on tv will mean the world to me. Continuing on the 'Parker Reyes-LaRusso's life is going great' train, I took Kenny to go get some last minute school supplies the other day since he's taking some of the classes I had to take when I was his age and I know what he'd need. It's strange seeing him and Anthony at the high school. They're now older than my little brother Alejandro ever lived to be... he never got to come here to the high school... but I'm beyond happy that Kenny and Anthony get to. Anyway, after karate today, Robby's taking me on a date to the arcade, and I'm super excited. I still have the bracelet that matches Sam and Robby's that we got when we went to the arcade on my birthday last year.
I was gonna bring Robby and Miguel to training, but they both went with Robby's dad. That's okay. I'm glad they're getting their bonding time. I'm not sure where they are though. Training starts soon, and everyone else seems to be here. I run through the traditional Miyagi-Do kata as a warmup. It's nice seeing everyone all together, finally. Everyone as one big happy family. Well... almost everyone...
Things are still tense between Sam and Tory, which is fair, given all the past drama between the two of them... and Kenny isn't here... I haven't really brought up karate when we've hung out. It seems like it's still a sensitive subject and I don't want to pressure him. Still... I wish he was here with us...
"Hey babe," Robby says as he walks up to me. I pause what I'm doing, grinning as I accept a kiss on the cheek from him.
"Hola mi vida," I greet back.
"I see La Reina is ready for training today. The weight of all those taekwondo medals didn't hurt your neck did they?" Miguel asks. I laugh.
"No, they didn't, but thankfully I think I've almost fully recovered from the elbow and hook kick to the back," I respond.
"What about your hand? Doing okay?" Robby asks. I hold it up, moving my fingers and wrist around.
"Seems alright to me. I'll just need all the time I can get before the Sekai Taikai to make sure it's at the same level my left hand is," I say. He smiles, seeming to relax a little.
"Must be a relief to have it out of the brace. Now you can do your little Italian hand motion to your heart's content," Miguel quips.
"Grazie a dio," I say, making said hand motion, which causes both boys to laugh. I'll never get tired of seeing the two of them getting along like this. My boyfriend and my best friend? Growing closer and closer? It's perfect.

I just know Mr LaRusso is not a fan of Eli and Demetri's proposed logo design. It's definitely funny. From what I've heard of Mr Miyagi, I think he'd have a good laugh about it. Mr LaRusso, however, does not seem to be having a good laugh about it. Our three senseis dismissed training then walked inside, so I can only assume they're arguing about it. I'm sure I'll hear all about it at work or at home this weekend.
