Chapter 24

Nicolas Pov

I was in one of the rooms of the castle that was giving to me along with other duelist to rest until the matches start tomorrow. I was sitting on the couch going over my deck one last time making different combos with my cards.

"This deck I built had serve me well in my duels I hope it will continue to serve me well in these matches." I said taking a second to think.

"Master if I may I just want to say your s strong duelist and that I'm honored to be part of your deck." said Ruin.

"I have to agree with my counterpart here serving you is the best." said Demise which made me a little teary eyed.

"Thank you both and I don't know if the other cards can hear me, but I want to thank you as well for standing by me all this time." I said.

"The other monsters in your deck are glad to be serving you and that you been taking great care of them." said Ruin.

"Thank you both of you." I said.

"No need to thank us boss but I think it's best you get some sleep you have a big day tomorrow." said Demise.

"Your right I should get some sleep." I said putting my deck back together and put it away safely before heading off to bed even while I slept I was training my mind with the spirits of my ancestors learning a lot from them and expanding my powers to new heights.

Ruin's Pov

My master was so peaceful while he was sleeping the past few days must had tired him out a bit not that I can blame him considering the amount of things he's been through, but I still think he can still win this whole tournament I just need to have faith in him. I spoke to the other monsters in his deck, and they all agreed they will not let him down no matter what.

3rd person Pov

In the middle of the night Bandit Keith was up to his sneaky ways and snuck into Joey's room and stole his card that Yumi gave him which was the Kings glory hand from right under his nose while he was sleeping. The night went on until the next morning when the duels were about to start.

"Well here we go." said Nicolas taking a deep breath before walking to the door of his room.

"You got this boss remember don't stress focus on the moment feel don't think use your instincts." said Demise.

"Why do I get the feeling you ripped that out of the phantom Menace Demise?" asked Nicolas.

"Hey if it worked for Anakin it can work here right?" asked Demise.

Once everyone was in the main lobby Croquet spoke from the speakers.

"Attention! Attention! The duel champion playoffs are about to begin! All finalists will now enter the arena!" said Croquet on the speakers. The doors opened and all the duelist walked into the arena. Once there the doors on the other side of the arena opened and walked in Maximillion Pegasus.

"Yumi, Joey, Mai, Rayna, Kiyo, Bandit Keith, Amy and Nicolas. I welcome all of you to the playoff arena. Here is where the last great Duel Monsters duels shall be waged to determine the championship of the Duelist kingdom. Only one of you shall emerge victorious. Only one of you shall win the three million prize and, of course the victor in the playoffs shall also earn the right to challenge me in the final match." Said Pegasus.

"Challenge you? Well, isn't that special? And what does the playoff winner get for defeating you in the final duel?" asked Triston.

"The victor will be granted one request, whatever his, or her heart desires. And if it's within my vast power to do so, their wish will be granted. The victor will also be declared the undisputed duelist Kingdom champion, ranked number one in the world." replied Pegasus.
