And before I could worship those lips, she broke away from my hold, giggling shyly. I love the way she blushes and love it even more when I am the reason.
I followed her, finding her standing in the middle of the path, looking at something. I couldn't resist wrapping my arms around her waist, pulling her gently against me. Resting my head on her shoulder, I took a moment to savor the beauty that had captivated me. Whatever it was, it was something special that only she possessed. There was something in her eyes, in her smile, in her laugh that made me fall deeply in love with her.
"Sanskaar—" The moment she said my name, I noticed her shivering lips. I walked in front of her, gently holding her hands and lifting her chin with my thumb. "What happened?" I whispered.
She handed me a small piece of paper before collapsing into my arms.
It took me a moment to wrap my arms around her, providing the comfort she needed while I read the note.
"Do you think two prisoners meant for different cages can live together with freedom? Run for your freedom, darling, because the day I reach you, I will cut your wings and confine you in my golden cage."
"This motherfucker!" I growled internally. "The day I get my hands on him, I'll make a new graveyard just for him."
"Who is this? Why is he behind us?" Vaidehi asked, pulling away slightly, her eyes filled with worry.
"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you," I assured her.
"Sanskaar, it's not just about me, it's about us. I don't want to lose us, I d-don—" Her voice broke, and before she could finish, I pressed my lips softly against hers. Her eyes widened in surprise, but I stayed in position, letting the kiss convey my unspoken promise.
I pulled away, searching her eyes for any sign of fear. "Can't you stop kissing?" she asked, a hint of a smile breaking through her anxiety.
"Will you let me do it if I say I can't?" I teased, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
"Wait! How could I forget? I wasn't talking to you," she said with a teasing smile before waving goodbye and starting to walk ahead. I followed her like a lost puppy, gently holding the edge of her pallu before it could sweep the ground.
"Don't follow me," she commanded, her voice firm as she walked ahead with purposeful strides.
"I'm not following you. I'm following my wife," I retorted, trailing her with a determined pace until we reached my car. Her eyes fell on the bump at the front, and she turned to me, her gaze intense and fiery.
God, save me from my wife.
She marched toward me, her eyes blazing with anger, and jabbed her finger at the car. "What is this?"
"A bump," I replied, my tone trying to remain calm.
"Mujhe bhi dikhayi deta hai."
"Then why did you ask?" I couldn't help but quip.
"How careless you are, Mr. Suryavanshi! How can you drive like this? Do you care for your life, your family, or not? Do you have a brain or not? You stupid man, don't you even care for me, don't care for my love for you—" She halted, biting her lip and turning away, her cheeks flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment. She was hiding her beautiful blushing face from me.
