The following day Shadow woke up much later than usual which was odd for him. He got up and did his usual morning routine and headed to the throne room where his mother was looking at a clipboard and signing something. He watch as she gave it to the party coordinator then finally noticed him. "Oh afternoon shadow I was just about to check on you." She smiled walking up to him. "Ummm why wasn't I woken up at the usual time?" He asked. "Oh well your father and I figured we cut you some slack from your royal duties and let you heal a bit more mentally." She smiled and he nods. "Well thank you but I'm ok now." He said as they walked out of the throne room. "Nonsense shadow now tomorrow night we will be celebrating your brothers engagement and then the following day, I would like to start planning your birthday celebration next month." She said. "I honestly forgot my birthday was coming up." Shadow admits. "Well you been through a lot lately my son so it's alright. Now I will go ahead and ask what wines would you like to be served on the drink trays?" She asked. "Oh well the usual red, white, and rosé mother." He said. "I mean brand wise" she asked. "Oh ummmm the red I would like Devils Grape, Wolfdale crisp white, and of course Moonlight rosé." He said. "Excellent choices you have my tastes for sure. Like mother like son." She smiled proudly and he chuckled a bit while rolling his eyes. "Sure mother" he replied and they laugh walking into the cellar.
Later on shadow was lost in a book like he usually does when he noticed moment from the corner of his eye. He rose he head away from the body and looks in the darkness. "Who's there?!" He yelled standing up. Yet he got no response then jumps when a stack of books fall behind him. He brows furrow in confusion and walks over to the pile. As he walked closer there was slight movement. He grabs a fire poker from the fireplace and got closer raising it up ready to attack the intruder. Then a little grey cat jumps from the pile and meows slightly scared. Shadow sighs in relief and puts the poker away. "Hey there little guys where did you come from?" He asked kneeling down and starts petting the cat. The cat purrs being petted and gets closer to shadow. He looks around and remembered he open a window. "Are you alone? Do you need a home?" He asked and the cat jumps in his arms purring. "I'll take that as a yes." He smiled standing up and walks to the window then closes it. "Let's give you a name..... hm" he thinks looking at the light blue eyes of the cat. "I think I'll call you Sky." He said and the cat meows liking the name. He smiled and leaves the library running into his parents. "Oh mother father I was just going to look for you." He said walking up. "Shadow is that a cat?" His father asked. "Yes he snuck through the window I'd opened up and I taken a liking to the little fur ball." He smiled petting it. "Seems like the little thing has taken a liking to you as well." His mother said petting it making it purr. "May I keep Sky?" He asked. "Is that the cats name?" His father asked and he nods. "As long as you take care of Sky that is fine" his father said. "I will, thank you father" he smiled. "You're welcome son" his father smiled and they walk away. "Guess I should order some things for you Sky." He said walking to his room. Once inside Sky jumps out of his arms and looks around the room while shadow pulls out his phone ordering things Sky would need. Once he paid and got the order number laid down on his bed and Sky jumps up. He smiled as Sky curls up next to him and he decided to take a nap with his new pet. Once shadow was asleep sky woke up and wondered the room as it's eyes glowed purple.
