Three months passed since that night and after much persuasion Shadow finally convinced Knuckles to come to the castle for dinner. Shadow was feeling extremely excited to have him meet his parents because the past few dates have been wonderful and he felt very happy about how it's been going. This also made his parents very happy and they are looking forward meeting to meeting the man that not only saved their son but has made him very happy. Shadow paces at the door waiting nervously for Knuckles. Xavier and Maria smile seeing this remembering when they were dating. The doors open and the guards let knuckles in who was dressed in a dark suit with his fur pulled back in a low ponytail. "Wow...." Shadow blushed. "Hey babe" he said walking up to shadow and kissed his cheek. "Hey you look amazing" Shadow replied. "Thank you and so do you" Knuckles said. "Welcome Knuckles it's nice to finally meet you. My name is Xavier." Xavier said walking up. "You as well sire" knuckles bowed then shook Xavier's hand as Maria walked up. "Knuckles this is my beautiful wife Maria. Shadows mother." Xavier said. "Nice to meet you my queen" he bowed. "You as well Knuc.....kles...." She looks in his eyes and felt her soul leave her body. "Maria? Are you alright?" Xavier asked. "Yes I was just.... Stunned by his eyes. I see how my son fell for you. Your eyes are very enchanting." She smiled. "I get that a lot, thank you for the compliment." He smiled. "Well let us head to the lounge and enjoy some pre dinner cocktails." Xavier clapped. "Sounds lovely. Lead the way my king" knuckles said. Maria walks with her husband as shadow walks with knuckles. "I must ask will your other children be joining us? Shadow mention he has two older brothers." Knuckles asked. "Oh no Darius is with his girlfriend tonight planning to propose in the morning. Scourge is with his bride to be picking out cake." Xavier explained. "Ah" knuckles smiled as they enter the lounge. "Gerald some pre dinner cocktails please" Xavier said to a male cheetah. "Yes sire but I need to get the riesling from the cellar I will be back" Gerald said and leaves. "Shadow I do need to speak with you privately for a moment will you two be alright?" Xavier asked. "Yes my love it'll give me a chance to get to know knuckles more." Maria smiled. "Excellent. Come shadow." Xavier and shadow leave the room. Knuckles waits to make sure they were far away before he snapped and a glass of scotch appeared in his hand. "It's been years my dear. How have you been?" He smiled and she glared at him. "What are you doing here it can't be time for you to collect." She growled. "Oh but it is my dear queen. Remember the deal we made I told you that you will have three sons. And what I want in return is to take your youngest as my mate after his 21st birthday. So I'm current full filling your end of the deal." He smiled and eyes glowed red. "I don't—" "I'm sorry you want me to go back on my end? Where your sons will cease to exist and your husband will loose his queen from your illness." He said and she closed her eyes then sighed in defeat. "No...." She said. "Good I'm glad you understand." He finished his scotch then makes the glass disappear. "And you have nothing to worry about I didn't spell him, I have treated him with kindness and fairly. There fore his love for me is genuine and so is my love for him." He smiles at her.
