Ferran had been counting down the days before Anna's return to Spain. As much as he understood she needed to be away from everything for a couple of weeks, he also found the wait got worse each day. At least her daily calls allowed him to check she was fine. Even if she claimed to be ok, he still worried.

"Hey! You're coming home tomorrow!", was Ferran's greeting when he answered the phone.

"Yeah", said Anna, laughing. "Did you miss me?"

"I'm losing my mind without you here by my side".

"Well...I...".

"What's wrong?"

"Fer, I...I've been thinking. And maybe it'd be good for me to move to London. I feel so safe and free here...I don't know".

"What? But what about us?", he asked, panicking.

Anna's answer was cut by the sound of the doorbell.

"No one's home!", he said, annoyed.

"You should open the door. It could be something important".

"Anna, you just told me you're not coming back. I don't care about...".

"Open the door, Ferran".

Ferran did as she said and found Anna trying not to laugh and looking more beautiful than she ever had.

"Surprise!"

"Don't ever do that again", he said while hugging her. "I was ready to book a flight to London so I could go find you and bring you back to me".

Anna just laughed, hugging him back. "As if you could get rid of me that easily".

After hugging for a little longer, Anna got inside Ferran's house and he kept staring at her like he couldn't believe she was already back.

"So", he started, holding her face gently. "Can I look after you now?"

"And love me?"

"I've been doing that for a while. You might have noticed".

"I have", said Anna, wrapping her arms around his neck and finally kissing Ferran. She had missed his kisses so much.

"You can stay here while you find a place to rent", offered Ferran.

"Thank you. It shouldn't take long to find the right place".

"Take as long as you need. And yes, I say that being very selfish".

Anna laughed and kissed Ferran again before heading to take a quick shower to freshen up after her trip.

Ferran had told her he would wait for her in the living room. So she made a cup of tea and brought it with her to the sofa. She sat down next to him and realised how much she needed to just open up to him. A relationship like theirs should start with full honesty.

"I was so scared, Ferran".

"When?"

"When we met. You had a girlfriend and I was just starting my career. Everyone's eyes were on me and...I wanted to be accepted. To be liked. Respected. I don't know".

"We all want that", he told her. Because it really was like that.

"Yeah, I get that but the comments...they drove me mad. No one would talk about the thing I spent two days working on. It was all about who I got in my bed. About judging me for a photoshoot or making all types of comments about how I looked. So Hugo...he was the safe option".

"Also the wrong one".

Anna sighed hearing him say that. "I want to say I know that now but I think I always knew. But once we were together and people knew, I was respected more. I could mention your name while doing my job and people didn't overreact".
