Wrong choice (Ferran Torres)

Chapter 42

Anna and Ferran found a perfect routine for them very quickly. Anna worked while Ferran worked as well, so she didn't have to miss him while he traveled for away matches. Ferran did miss her when she traveled to do interviews but those were quick trips and they always made up for lost time when they reunited.

Life was good. They couldn't complain. But Ferran wanted more. He wanted everything with Anna. So when they had a little break during the Christmas holidays, he decided to do something about it.

"It'll work", reassured him Paula.

"I know but I'm also terrified. Isn't it too soon?"

"You could have married the day you met. You've been both completely in love with each other since that very same day".

"I know...".

"It'll work", she said again, running to join Anna.

The plan was to go on a little trip away from the city. It was cold and so they rented a rural house where all 8 of them could stay. The group included Anna, Ferran, Paula and her girlfriend, Arantxa and her boyfriend, and Pedri and Eric...who were chronically single so they had to share a room. But they weren't going to miss what was going on and Ferran needed every possible person to help.

"This place is so cute!", squealed Anna when they entered the house. "There's a fireplace too. We'll need it soon because it's freezing".

"Let's leave the suitcases in our rooms", suggested Eric and they all followed him upstairs.

Anna kept smiling seeing the inside of the room. It was so perfect and the bed was so big and comfortable.

"I'm going to check how the girls are doing".

"Are you leaving me alone?", pouted Ferran.

"You can go check how the boys are doing", she laughed.

And soon she was knocking at the door of the room where Paula and her girlfriend Xènia were staying.

"Come in!"

"Hey. All good? Do you need anything?"

"We're good", told her Paula, trying not to laugh at Anna's nerves. "Tell her you're good too, babe".

"Oh", Xènia was surprised by the request. "I'm good, yeah".

"I'm just worried you'll feel left out here. Because we all know each other already. I don't want that to happen", explained Anna.

"Don't worry. It'll be fine".

"Great!"

After hugging both of them, Anna went downstairs to the living room. She had that weird feeling of people going silent when she showed up.

"What were you talking about?"

"Nothing. Just wondering what to eat", said Pedri but he wasn't looking at Anna when he said that. Odd.

"Ok...".

And that feeling continued the whole first day they were all there together. It seemed like the only one who didn't give weird looks to Anna was Xènia, so she used the excuse of wanting to help her not feel left out to just be with her and Paula.

"Why is everyone so weird?"

"Who's weird?", asked Paula, but also didn't fully look at Anna while talking.

"All of you. Well, not Xènia".

"We're not weird. We're having fun".

"If you say so...".
