The pair flew for what seemed like an hour. They shot through.the sky just like a pair of bullets. They gradually descended from the air before landing in a pile of snow. "Argh," Waluigi groaned. "Why has it gone so cold."

"I don't think that is our main concern dear," Rosalina said alarmingly. Waluigi composed himself only to find a hoard of thirty tiny blue penguins glaring menacingly at them. One of them spoke up. "How could you destroy our beloved snowman?" he growled. Who knew penguins could get angry like this?

"Snowman?" a perplexed Rosalina asked.

"Don't play funny games with me, Mrs. You intentionally landed on our sacred relic in a blatant disregard to our culture." Rosalina realised what he meant. "But-"

"Don't think you can reason with us penguins. We are not stupid like everyone thinks. Now penguins, ATTACK!"

"Rosie, we have to run," Waluigi pleaded. She did not need any persuasion at all. The pair darted away as fast as they could. It was difficult to maintain any sort of speed through the foot deep pristine, white snow but Waluigi's elongated legs did help just enough for him to start pulling away from the penguins. he turned around. "Wah hah suckers," Waluigi taunted, "Looks like you can't keep up with Waluigi!"

"What are you doing Waluigi? Don't anger them any more!" Rosalina yelled. She was not as fast as Waluigi, since her high heels were extremely unsuitable for prolonged walking, let alone running. Furthermore, hovering barely made a difference either, so she was in a very precarious situiation. Waluigi panicked before scolding himself for being an idiot. He spun around before scurrying back for the woman of his dreams. "Sorry," he uttered sheepishly before lifting the woman with all his strength.

"Waluigi... is this necessary?" Rosalina asked awkwardly as she cradled in the plumber's arms.

"Do you want to be penguin food?" he huffed and puffed back at her. His face strained furiously; he should have worked on his upper body strength. "Jesus Rosie, you are quite heavy."

"Hey, I'm not heavy. I'm just tall alright, so my bones are quite big!"  she scowled.

"Hey, whatever," an unconvinced Waluigi muttered.

The whole scene looked rather poetic yet comical at the same time. Amidst the falling snow, a plumber was holding a princess, running away from hostile creatures. It looked like a situation Mario found himself in with Peach multiple times. Where this and that differed however was that two excessively tall beings were the escapees, and while mario is usually running away from fearsome creatures enlisted by Bowser, Waluigi and Rosalina were frantically trying to escape a bunch of penguins. Tiny blue penguins that were upset over a snowman. Remarkably, Waluigi was still going strong, though a steep slope lay ahead.

"Waluigi, please think of something!" Rosalina pleaded.  Waluigi desperately looked around for anything. He was unsure what to look for but there had to be something, right? Well, e could just make out a crevice behind the slope. Furthermore, this slope looked perfect for snowboarding with its smooth surface and lack of obstacles hindering anyone who tried to approach the cliff. The gap looked possible to cross so all Waluigi had to do was add these things together to come up with the most ridiculous plan ever conceived by a Mushroom Kingdom citizen. "Rosie," he warned reluctantly, "Accept my apology in advance."

"Wha- Argh!" she screamed as she was dropped like a huge log onto the floor, face first. Waluigi could only pray that what lay beneath the snow was as soft and warm as a chocolate fudge cake as opposed to the more realistic possibility of endless bumps and jagged rocks that could scrape Rosalina's face off. Waluigi leapt onto her back, feeling her anguish as he did so. Still, it was the only possibility, for the penguins were now gaining rapidly on them. Waluigi dashed down the slope, doing everything he could to increase his momentum. He grabbed tightly onto Rosalna's ribcage just like a snowboarder would do when performing tricks in the air as they leapt across the gap before the pair landed with some grace on the other side. Before inevitably gloating at the penguins, Waluigi rushed over to Rosalina. Despite intending to apologise, he couldn't hold his laughter as Rosalina's face was covered with snow. After calming himself down, he said "I'm really sorry Rosie, I had no choice otherwise we were done for."

Rosalina was seething with anger, which melted the snow stuck on her face, revealing a whole host of cuts across her face. "What were you thinking?!' she asked as she confronted him angrily as she repaired herself with her wand. "I could have died Waluigi. Even worse that was humiliating!" She soon accepted the reality that Waluigi was being quite resourceful and acted only out of necessity. "We never speak of this to anyone," she insisted calmly.

"Well there may be nobody to speak to full stop if we don't get a move on," Waluigi explained, desperate to change the subject. As they departed, Waluigi sent some rather obscene gestures towards the fuming penguins. They probably could cover the gap but they didn't want to risk it, so all they could do was look back in anger as their new foes disappeared into the distance.

They continued for thirty minutes across the surface. There was a noticable change; the previous surface was covered in snow, keepimg the actual surface rather insulated, while this newer surface lacked snow and was instead just huge fields of ice. Waluigi slipped multiple times, allowing the princess, who had reverted to floating, to laugh somewhat at this misfortune. It was nothing hostile, but she felt it was karma for humiliating her in front of nobody they knew. Not long after, they had arrived to a surprisingly familiar place. It was a racetrack that was half yellow half green, its twisting, winding roads making it a formidable challenge for any driver. "Feels nice to be seeing something familiar, doesn't it Rosie?"

"It does to be fair. Say, you don't think there is a warp pipe we can use to travel further?"

"Possibly. However, I'm exhausted, and its getting dark, shouldn't we stay in one of the driver's rooms and relax for the night?" Waluigi suggested.

They trodded towards the are where drivers relaxed before and after any races that took place here. The harsh weather conditions and demanding circuit itself made such facilities a necessity. They weren't elegant, each room consisting of a fridge, table, bathroom and sofa, almost like a mini budget hotel minus the bed. Located next to these rooms was a large communal area for all of the drivers and their friends to spend time in. Obviously, the chances f this room being a bustling hub in this moment was minimal, but the pair armed themselves just incase.

"Wait!" Rosalina whispered as they walked down the long, dark, deserted corridor. Only the next room wasn't deserted. A handful of cheerful voices could be heard, chattering away to their heart's content. "Sounds like possible danger." Waluigi held his tennis raquet across his body, preparing to block any surprise attacks before viciously conter attacking while Rosalina held her wand closely, yet slightly angled in order to cast any spells swiftly. They crept with trepidation before the looming double doors. The voices got louder, yet given they were all speaking rapidly and almost simultameously, they were impossible to identify.

"Waluigi, on three we attack," Rosalina instructed. He nodded in agreement.

"1..2..3," the pair counted as they barged the doors open. They were immediately disarmed, not by the apparent threat but by their own disbelief and shock.

"C..Captain Toad?" Rosalina asked, unsure whether she was hallucinating.
