Pulling her right beside his frame, he captured her waist in a tight, possessing hold. Flashing a curt smirk at Miliani and then at the consigliere, Daniel stated, "Don't mind my wife, she's a little prankster."

Within a few moments or so, the Knight's consigliere made an entry towards the stage before anyone present on the stage could react to anything. With each of his interests concerned, Daniel was at least ten steps ahead of the Romanos. He had taken precautions about every possible obstacle that could impede his path to the ultimatum.

Daniel's legal advisor, the Knight family's consigliere, raised on the stage with a stack of legal papers in a black file. That's when Antonio Romano realised he had lost his little game even though it wasn't that much of a reliable stake but after his daughter Jessica informed him about Daniel's little wife confessing all that, he gave it a shot. Not directly but through their consigliere.

As silly as it might sound but the sayings are true, a drowning man will clutch at a straw. Now, Antonio would definitely have to answer to Capo only if he would not be busy hurtling over some fine whores brought here, especially for today's celebration.

Legal papers of Daniel and Miliani's matrimonial ties were handed to the man questioning it. With a little frown on his face, he carefully went through them and found no loophole to take advantage of.

The rule of the promising Don to be married was also the hereditary duty to ensure the safety of the daughters of the Mafia families and to look on the other side, to use them and the union as a medium to strengthen the organisation.

"I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. These papers are legitimate," the Romanos consigliere announced in a contrite tone to everyone. Miliani's apprehensions were nullified as well, which meant their marriage was real, the papers Daniel forcefully made her sign in haste were real, and the fact of Daniel being her husband was undeniably real.

The loud sounds of people clapping and popping the champagne bottles buzzed throughout the entire hall as Daniel signed the documents holding Miliani by his side. He held Mili's hand in a tight hold while taking the oaths as per their custom.

Daniel took an oath to be loyal to the organization but not to its associates, he oathed to be loyal to the family's name but not to its members, he finished his speech by taking the last oath to protect its legacy but solely in his own name.

The capo and the padrino rose on their feet approaching Daniel to lightly shake his hands and give him a side hug. Miliani kept her gaze lower as the presence of those dangerous men intimidated her to her core. Enzo and Jovanno were rooted to their respective spots as Daniel did not wait for them to make any congratulatory move and raised the glass of champagne kept near him.
