𐙚Mili was extremely determined to advocate for Jessica before Daniel. Why were they forcefully getting her married to someone who already had a child, most probably a partner? Things were not very transparent to Mili. Both Mili and Tulip could not make themselves question the poor child about her Mama. With so many questions running in her mind, Mili chose to stay awake. The night drifted towards the dawn but Daniel was still not back in the room. The maid previously informed her that she would be staying with her husband in the same bedroom, but he was not there, and she felt alone.
Overcoming the hesitation, Mili unlocked the antique-ly decorated door of her bedroom. Two men were stationed outside her room, standing like a statue made of stone, on either side of the door. Mili swallowed involuntarily as the faintly lit aisle was eerily blank.
"Anything you need, madam?" One of them robotically requested but Mili quickly muttered no before closing the door like before.
Did he discard her after last night? Mili was aware that he never allowed anyone inside his bedroom but after yesterday's session, she unknowingly felt something shifting inside her in his absence. His presence made her body ache and his absence made her mind ache... A strange tussle of emotions coursed through her veins.
An uncharted fear of abandonment gripped her cold heart, lulling her into a restless sleep on the edge of the king-size bed.
As her slumber was interrupted by the late morning rays, she found herself comfortably sprawled in the middle of the bed. Daniel's strong arm had pinned her against the mattress as it was wrapped around her lean waist securely. He still had his eyes shut, breathing gently. So, he had not abandoned her, he found his way back to the same bedroom as her after she had slept. A pleasant smile spread across her lips upon realising that. The morning before, he got out of the bed before she had awakened. But, today was much different.
His face was calm and serene as he slept peacefully beside his wife, completely unaware of her intense scrutiny. His eyelashes were thick, thicker than hers. He lay on his stomach, his face turned toward her, revealing muscles relaxed yet detailed and tattoos like shadows across his skin that exuded a strong, intoxicating masculinity and radiated rugged strength which she found irresistible. Mili felt a soft, almost instinctive pull, the urge to reach out and run her fingers through his messy hair. He looked so divine.
