𐙚"Is that so?" Little Alina softly replied, vividly intimidated and daunted by the imposing man's tall stature.
All she wanted was to have a sweet time with her Rapunzel, but her husband was here.
"Yes, we often read books together. Don't we, Mili?" Daniel queried making Mili's heartbeat quicken. Even though it was sounding very normal only Mili was aware of the depth of it.
The little girl glanced up at Daniel before carefully sliding off Mili's lap. With unsteady steps, she stumbled toward her governess, who stood waiting a short distance away.
Daniel guided Mili to stand up before taking her hand in his. He brought her to the centre of the hall. His palm settled on her waist, securing her against him in a way that both comforted and controlled. In his other hand, he held a crystal glass of whiskey, its amber liquid catching the light. His eyes were sharp and calculating as people approached them, one by one, offering their praise for his latest string of victories. Confidence oozed from him; all his mastermind planning brought him the desired results.
Whereas Mili was jittery like she always becomes when she attends people with her husband. She unmistakably feels the weight of people's gaze over her not for who she is but because of the man she is with. Daniel's presence is so strong and imposing; his charm, his allure captivates people of both genders and any age effortlessly.
Mili's eyes rolled around, standing beside Daniel, not understanding the briefings of his conversation with the man in front of them. Jovanno smilingly waved at Mili from the near distance as soon as her eyes caught his sight. She returned the gesture with a soft, tentative smile. Jovanno appeared to be the life of the celebration, clearly in his element at his sister’s wedding, surrounded by laughter and a few admiring girls.
Unintentionally, Mili's notice drifted to the girls surrounding Jovanno and she noted how the girls had their hungry eyes locked on the man holding her hand. An uneasy restlessness stirred within her, and she quickly looked away, but the pull of discontent made her glance back. To her unknown irritation, they still had their eyes on her husband, more intense this time. Eyes trailed up and down Daniel's frame as they whispered gossip among themselves. Mili followed their suit out of sheer jealousy gnawing at her insides. Indeed, he was a sight to relish. With his white well-made shirt paired to luxurious black perfectly fitted pants. An expensive watch gleamed on his wrist, while the veins in his forearm tensed as his grip tightened around the whiskey glass. She squinted her eyes, wondering why he had to roll his sleeves up to his elbows .. an almost deliberate invitation for their wandering eyes.
