Starving? For me?
Is he trying to say that he missed me?
Mili did not realise when she felt gigglish at the very thought of him missing her. In her eighteen years of isolated life, the girl had never heard anyone acknowledge missing her.
His words sounded a little confusing but she could not bring herself to question them. The comfort of his warmth was too overwhelming to let her speak. His hands, even though stained, scarred from felonies, she found her warmth and solace in them. Comfortably staying put in his hold, Mili let him carry out of Antonio's mansion. He didn't put her down even after that; he held her effortlessly all the way back to their mansion as if she were a weightless thing.
Mili had to slither her one arm around Daniel's neck for support when he rode the stairs. Willa was down at the farthest end of the hall, quietly waiting for Miliani but as she witnessed Daniel carrying his wife in his arms, she took the note that she should not stay anywhere near Mili's room tonight.
Snuggled in his arms, Mili noticed him passing by her room's door and taking her inside his.
He settled themselves gently on the edge of his giant bed, with Mili perched on his lap, her legs tucked around his waist. Her hands rested softly on his broad shoulders as if they belonged there only.
Mili tried examining his face with her timid yet curious visions, but he remained unreadable as always, his icy blue eyes attached to her face as her greenish hazel ones were on his.
"Talk to me," he commanded softly, brushing aside the strands of hair that dared to obscure his orbs from drinking the full essence of her fragile beauty. How much he had missed the sound of her voice - soft like a feather and sweet like honey like a melody spun from a tender love story. Something deep within him ached to hear her voice again, and he couldn't shake the thought of how it might sound if she were to moan his name - soft, breathless, and utterly his.
Her gaze fell down from its level as his order baffled the girl in his possession a little. The last time she was in his room, he scolded her for her misdoings and then drove her away abruptly for God knows what.
Mili always had many things in her mind, but she was habitual with remaining silent, especially in his intimidating presence. As he demanded, she complied and queried with genuine curiosity, "Were you there when the building caught fire?"
"Yes, baby," he answered immediately.
Even though looking down, Mili could physically feel his eyes running down her body. What was she supposed to say to continue the conversation if he answered in just one concrete word or two?
