Chapter 20 - Only If You Knew

Aashi and Aryan returned to Aashi's home. When Aashi opened the door, it was pitch dark. "Why it's so dark here" Aashi mumbled and turned on the light. "Surprise" everyone said in unison. When Aashi looked at them she saw that everyone was present there, her mom-dad, Aryan's parents her best friend Richa. Aashi's eyes brightened when she saw her dad, she immediately ran towards him and hugged him.

"Dad, when did you come back from Australia, I missed you so much" her eyes was little teary. "I know princess, I missed you too, Aryan asked me to come back as we have another surprise for you" Aashi's eyes widened.

"Surprise" Aashi asked confusingly and looked at Aryan's side "wait a minute, did you all knew about Aryan's return" they all nodded, "but that's not your surprise" Mrs. Malhotra said "than what is it" Aashi asked.

"Aashi sweetheart, we have fixed your engagement with Aryan after 2 weeks and then after 2 months, marriage" Mrs. Oberoi said with wide smile. "You okay with it, princess" Aashi's mother asked with concern. Aashi nodded her head in yes shyly and hide her face into Aryan's embrace. Aryan chuckled and said "My silly girl"

After having dinner they all left for their home. Now it was around 11:00 pm in night. Aashi couldn't sleep so she came to her balcony, admiring the night view. Aashi was busy admiring the view, when she suddenly felt two hands around her waist who was hugging her from behind. Aashi didn't need to turn around to know that who is behind, she knew this scent very well.

"What are you doing here at this hour" Aashi asked without looking at Aryan. "I was missing you" Aryan said resting his chin on Aashi's shoulder, "You just left an hour ago" Aashi said looking at moon. "So what! I still miss you" he said and gave a small peck on her cheeks. "How did you came here, my windows are lock" Aashi said finally looking at him, "You see! My soon to be mother in law is pretty chill, she let me in" Aryan said, winking at her. 

"You're already becoming her favorite, huhh!!" Aashi made a pout and Aryan poked his finger in her pouted cheeks and smiled, caging her into his embrace. "But coming through main gate isn't exciting as climbing your window in midnight, I'm gonna tell our children about our midnight visits" Aashi smacked him on his shoulder and chuckled slightly. "Hmm, now go, I have office tomorrow" Aryan gave a quick peck on Aashi's lips and left from there winking at her.

Time skip/Next day

Veer's POV

As I entered in the office, my heart was fighting with me to see a certain person, but for the sake of that heart only, I decided to avoid Aashi as much as I can. I know it will be painful, but I have to bear it, but my luck doesn't seem to be on my side today because we have this meeting where Aashi's also present. "Veer don't look at her, don't look at her, just don't, she's not yours, she doesn't love you, control yourself, don't look at her" I tried to convince myself a lot, but my heart was not ready to listen me nor my eyes. So eventually I ended up looking at her the whole meeting, where everyone was focusing on meeting my gaze was only fixed on her.

After meeting, someone called Veer. "Sir how was the presentation?" but Veer was lost somewhere else. "Sir!, Sir?" The employee called Veer again and Veer came back to his senses. "Mr. Sinha, just send me this presentation on mail, I'll look at it later." After saying that Veer left the meeting room in a hurry and unknowingly left his phone on the table, which Aashi noticed and she ran behind him while calling his name from behind.

"Mr. Maheshwari.....Mr. Maheshwari wait, Mr. Maheshwari" but Veer didn't stopped he was purposely avoiding her, as Aashi was running behind him, suddenly her heals broke and she got ankle sprain. As soon as Aashi hissed in pain Veer stopped and he looked behind. Veer saw Aashi sitting on floor holding her feet and hissing in pain. After seeing Aashi, Veer immediately ran towards her.
