Chapter 22 - Shooting Star

In office

Aashi came to the office humming a song, and by mistake she directly burge into Veer's cabin without knocking. When she entered she saw 2 more familiar faces she was supposed to find later, Mahi and Vikram.

"Oops! I'm really sorry, I just forgot to knock" by saying that she immediately went outside and then knocked on the door.

(Knock knock)

"You can come inside" he said with a soft smile. "Hey bestie, what's with the smile" she asked teasingly. "Actually... My engagement date is fixed with Aryan. I'm getting engaged this weekend only and I came here to invite you all" she said with excitement and smiling broadly. 

After hearing her, everyone's smile started falling but they all pretended to be happy. Vikram looked in Veer's direction who was forcing himself to smile but his eyes said otherwise. You're really brave Veer,  Vikram thought.

"Congratulations girl" Mahi said while hugging her and poked Vikram with her elbow, Vikram came back to his sensed and said "Yes, Congrats" he said with fake smile. Aashi looked at Veer's direction for his response but he didn't alter a word, maybe he was trying but failed miserably.

"Actually we are keeping is very short and private with fewer people only. Just family and very close Friends and since you all are special to me, I just wanted you there. So will you be coming" she asked being unsure from there reactions.

"Of course, how can we miss your special day. You said yourself that only very few people who are close to your heart are invited, so how can I deny knowing that I'm somehow important to you" Veer said with genuine smile on his face. 

Vikram and Mahi also nodded there head giving her a reassuring smile. Aashi was now at peace. After Aashi left Veer's cabin with Mahi, Vikram asked Veer "Will you be able to see her becoming someone else's or will you manage to forget her" 

"I don't know, I really don't know. But I want to fulfill her every wish in my power, even if that hurts me. Aren't some books meant to be incomplete" Veer said placing some files in his drawer and not looking at Vikram. 

At Malhotra's

When Aashi returned home she found a very decorating table with various food. When she raised a eyebrow in questioning manner to her mom than her mom pointed her fingers towards kitchen where Aryan was cooking some dessert. Just than Aryan come outside with a bowl in his hand and he saw Aashi.

"You're just on time, dinner is ready and so is your favorite gajar ka halwa" he said inhaling the sweet aroma from bowl. "You know Sweety, all this food is prepared by him, he didn't even let me enter in kitchen today. Mrs. Malhotra said while praising Aryan. 

Upon hearing her mom, Aashi got a huge smile on her face and she hugged Aryan. After having first bite only Aashi mom said "Wow son, you're an amazing cook, only if my daughter had 1% of your cooking skill" everyone present there started laughing "Mom..." Aashi pouted.  "It's okay aunty, I can cook my whole life for her" Aryan said placing his hand over Aashi's.

Engagement day

Today is engagement of Aashi and Aryan. As Aashi mentioned only her family and Aryan's family were present there with very close family members and friends of there. Aryan's friends were also present in today occasion. As per Aashi's friends only Richa were present in venue at present, as Veer, Vikram and Mahi are bit late. When Veer entered in venue hall along with Vikram and Mahi, his eyes got stuck on Aashi.

Veer's POV

We got late to reach venue as our dear Mahi took more than two hours to get ready as per the discussed time. But as soon as I entered into the hall I saw her...Aashi. she was wearing the gown I gifted her. After seeing her in clothes I gifted her, a huge smile appeared on my face. She was looking breathtaking, like a true princess, I let out a deep breath without realizing that I was holding my breath for too long.
