Chapter 17- Celebration

It was around 2 AM at night when Veer came home After dropping Aashi at her home. Veer went straight to his room as he didn't want to disturb his dad.  After freshening up he opened the gift box given by Aashi, when he opened it he found some books and one small smiley face toy with a handwritten note.

After reading that note a smile appeared  on Veer's face. "Silly girl, I have already read all these books, but I'll treasure it" he said while looking at books "and you little buddy, you will live now at my cars dashboard" Veer said while holding the smiley face toy in his hand. After that Veer also fell asleep as he was tired from today's journey.

Time skip/next day

When Aashi came to the office, someone gave her a bone crushing hug from behind and when she looked at that person, she was giving her a guilty smile. It was Mahi. "Aashi I have great news to share with you" Mahi said while jumping in excitement. "And what is it?" Aashi asked her raising brows. "Me and Vikram are getting engaged next week" her voice was loud enough to make people hear all over the office. "Oh my god! Congratulations girl" Aashi said while giving a tight hug to Mahi. "Just congratulations will not work, you have to come shopping with me" Mahi said. "Done, sweetheart" Aashi said winking at her.

When they were talking, mahi smelled a Savory fragrance coming from Aashi's bag. "Aashi what you have brought in lunch today, it smells amazing, please let me have it" Mahi said while drooling at her bag. "It's not for you, I have bring it for Veer sir, he likes halwa" said Aashi hiding her lunch bag from Mahi. "Why him" Mahi was whining like a child. "Because it's his birthday" Aashi said while making an *obvious* face. "Wait, how do you know it's his birthday, there's only few people knows about it in office"

"Got to know yesterday, now don't show me those puppy eyes, I'll bring for you tomorrow" Aashi said chuckling. "You're the best" said Mahi giving Aashi a bone crushing hug again. "Okay, I'll see you later" said Aashi giving a flying kiss to Mahi.

Aashi knocked on Veer's cabin and Veer asked her to come in. "Yes Miss Malhotra" (veer said while signing some papers) "Mr Maheshwari, I have brought something for you" Aashi said putting a tiffin box in front of Veer. "He opened it and found his favourite food halwa there, his eyes sparking and lips were giving a wide smile but then he controlled himself and asked again while looking at Aashi "It is.... really for me?" He asked pointing one finger towards himself. "No there's a ghost standing behind you, I have brought it for him" Aashi said making a face but she immediately facepalmed herself realising where she's standing and with whom she's talking. "I'm so sorry Mr Maheshwari, I was out of line" she said looking down in embarrassment. Veer chuckled on her this behaviour.

"Have it while it's still warm" Aashi said and Veer took one spoon from it. After eating halwa Veer's eyes got teary. "What happened Mr Maheshwari, don't you like it" Aashi asked being concerned and Veer shook his head "No Miss Malhotra, it's not like that, it's really delicious, it's just taste like how my mom used to make" one tear came out of his eyes and he immediately wiped it. "You really have a magic in your hands" Veer said praising Aashi. "Oh no no, it's not me who cooked this, I'm a terrible cook! I just asked my mom to cook it." Aashi said in one breath clearing the misunderstanding. "That's why it taste like it, I think all the mom's have same magic in there hands, please say thanks to her from my side" Veer said and Aashi nodded.
