Chapter Twenty.

We got to the hospital, Max was rushed off. He won't wake up. What if i've lost him?

"Lily Carter?" the nurse spoke.

"That's me?" I smiled faintly.

"we'd like to do the scan now, to check if the baby is ok, is that alright with you?" she asked.

"yes, thank you." I whispered.

I hopped onto the bed and lay still, she put some gel on my belly and then rolled the ball thing over it.

"how far gone are you, Lily?" she asked.

"the test said 3 weeks." I smiled.

"well, I can tell you the test is wrong, you're in fact 6 weeks pregnant." she told me.

"I am?" I asked.

"yes, you are, and your baby is perfectly fine. You're both very lucky." she grinned.

"thank you, so much." I mumbled.

"it's my pleasure, lovely." she replied as we both made our way out of the room.

The wait to see Max seemed like forever. I can't lose him, he's my life now. My baby needs it's daddy.

"Miss Carter?" a doctor smiled.

"yes, how is he?" I asked.

"Max is stable, but he has a slight head injury." he explained.

"but he'll be ok, right?" I whispered as tears started to sting my eyes.

"he may have a mild condition of memory loss for a a few days, but yes, miss Carter, Max will be perfectly fine." he smiled.

"thank you." I cried.

"I'm Dr Clyde by the way, I will be Max's doctor for as long as he is in here." he grinned.

"ok, thank you ever so much, doctor Clyde." I mirrored his grin.

"would you like to see him?" he asked.

"please." I whispered.

I walked in, and there he was. My baby boy, lying there, looking so confused. I sat down next to him, and he grabbed my hand.

"baby, you're ok?" he asked.

"I'm fine Max, I'm perfectly fine. How are you feeling?" I muttered into his hands.

"my head hurts, but I'm ok now. As long as you're with me, I'm fine babe." he smiled.

"you're adorable." I kissed his cheek.

"I know, hey, you best let Ruby know whats happened." he mumbled.

"she already knows, I text her. She said shes praying for you to get better." I smiled.

Nobody actually understands how happy I am. If I lost him, my world would be over, because he is my world and I can't be without him.

"baby?" Max whispered.

"yeah?" I grabbed his hands.

"marry me?" he grinned.
