"This is why I don't try for the lottery." Stiles states, eliciting a huff out of Athena as the two stood on the side of the road near their shop. They'd been called out to assist with a riot that occurred outside a convenience store, where hundreds of $100 bills had been raining from the sky, accompanied by the man they belonged to, Barry Johnson. The 118 pulled up to the scene, more ambulances than ladder trucks, since there wasn't anyone in need of immediate rescue. Athena and Stiles walked up to Hen as the paramedic got out of the ambulance and grabbed a med kit.
"Barry Johnson, 57. Seems to have had some kind of existential crisis after lunch. Threw all his money off the roof and then decided to jump after it." Athena explained to her, a look of disbelief on Hen's face. "Falls twenty stories and lives."
"Twenty stories? How is that even possible?" Buck asks, him and Eddie joining the trio as they made their way closer to the storefront.
"We also have a few greedy bystanders with minor injuries from a riot." Stiles inputs, pointing to the crowd of people lined up on the sidewalk. "Not sure how you want to handle those."
"That's up to the cap." Hen said, though it was more like a grumble. A LAFD fire and rescue SUV pulled up, with Chimney exiting the vehicle and making his way over to them. Bobby was suspended pending a full inquiry into events that occurred in Minnesota years prior, events that the LAFD hadn't been privy to. The man was presently staying at the Stilinski-Buckley residence while planning his wedding, it gave him the necessary bandwidth to also watch Alex and Christopher and give Carla a break. It helped that Alex really wanted to help Bobby plan the Grant-Nash wedding. All of Bobby's belongings were packed up and waiting at Athena's, but the amount of space for cake tasting was more abundant at the Stilinski-Buckley household, so that was really Bobby's deciding factor on where to plan the wedding.
"Uh, interim cap." Buck corrects Hen, a displeased look on his face as the woman continued to stare up at the building Barry had jumped from. "This is just temporary until Bobby comes back."
"You keep telling yourself that, Buck." Chimney states, looking between the roof of the building and a groaning Barry. "Woah. All right, I'll take spinal precaution." Chimney rushed over to the sedan that Barry had fallen on, looking up as the rest of the 118 remained standing in their spots with Athena and Stiles looking at the man dubiously. "Right, I'm the captain. Uh, Hen, Eddie, you're with him." Chimney directs them to Barry, who was still groaning in pain in the sedan's rear windshield. "Buck, go with John. Triage the minor injuries. And I'll get the jaws."
They got to work extracting Barry from the sedan, with Athena and Stiles looking on as the members of the 118 worked as well as they could under their temporary leadership.
"They really need Bobby back." Stiles said, sitting in the passenger seat of the shop.
"Don't we all." Athena replies, starting up the shop and driving away.

Waves crashed idly against the sand of the beach, providing a relaxing atmosphere as Scott and Eddie sat on a blanket in the sand. They were watching Christopher make a sand castle, the boy focused solely on the task as he shoveled sand into a pale and molded it into the shape he wanted.
"Oh, look at him. Makes me feel like I won the lottery." Eddie says, eliciting a chuckle out of Scott.
"He seems happy." Scott states, a mega-watt grin on his crooked jaw.
"I swear, that kid was born happy." Eddie jokes, chuckling to himself as he held a hand to his face with a grin. "I have no idea where he gets it."
