Zyair's POV.
Why does life in the city have to be so hectic? I came here thinking that I'd be able to catch a break but no, my missions just had to follow me here as well. I swung my legs that was dangling over the edge of the hotel building rooftop that I was sitting on while enjoying the serenity that came with the dark blue hue of the night sky. I wonder how long this peaceful feeling will last...
A choking sound behind me brought me out of my peaceful state and I looked back. "Anne? You're still alive? I thought I'd sucked you dry" I got up on my feet and rushed towards her. Her hair had lost the sheen it once had and her frame was an unhealthy shade of pale and frail, greatly resembling a corpse. "Sorry about that, let me put you out of your misery real quick" I used my hand to close her eyes.
Should I slit her throat or break her neck? Hmm... I think I'll go with breaking her neck.
I gently held both sides of her face and swiftly twisted it to the side, specifically at a 90° angle. Her body was already weak so it didn't take much effort to pull it off. The action made a sickening but satisfying sound which reminded me of the first time I broke someone's neck, my father's neck.
But anyways, that's not a story for today.
"What's going on?" I answered my phone which had been ringing for a while now. "The artifacts have been delivered and ready for distribution" The speaker got to the point. Already? Kill me now. "I see, I hope you kept this under tight wraps" I sternly said.
It was a real pain in the ass when the nosy witches found out about our scheme and ever messier when they began to retaliate, we had to get rid of a lot of them. But I don't blame them, what we're planning is a huge threat to most supernatural factions; vampires, werewolves, witches, and the few minor ones were all at risk. But I'd be lying if I said Alpha Zane cared. I didn't as well, of course.
"Of course, no one found out" the voice reassured. "Send me the location and I'll send help, not too sure if I'll come though" I hung up without hearing the reply. I stared at the vibrant city that was lit up like a Christmas tree, particularly at the direction of the phoenix --- company. I really enjoyed watching Stephanie and the gang by disguising as one of them but looks like I'll be too busy to do so due to my packed up schedule.
I unlocked my phone and dialed Nalia Hasley's number. I've never seen her nor talked to her but guess that's about to change now. "Speak" She curtly said. She sounds feisty, girls like her have really nice-tasting blood. "Well hello to you as well. This is a fellow servant of Alpha Zane speaking" I said lazily, pausing to get a response but recieving none. "The goods have been delivered and I need your help spreading it out. Your ability to fly would be really helpful here" I said.
I was told that she was one of the few alive griffins, and they being known for their prowess in the air, are perfect for jobs like this. "I see, but what are we doing exactly?" she sounded a bit confused. Alpha Zane didn't tell her? Up to me now to do so I guess... "I'll fill you in on the deets later. I'll send you the location later as I'm tired now but you'd better be there as soon as I send it. Got that? Alright , byee~" I fake yawned and then hung up.
I am tired, just not the physical one.
I looked at the corpse behind me- what was her name again? She must've thought that I was her dream guy that she'd only seen in novels, but the reality was that I was the villian, who destroys and causes trouble but a lot of the time ends up dying in a ditch somewhere.
I know that I'm not worth much, but I can't help but wonder if she'll accept me. Keya. I miss her So damn much. It's been a long time since I last saw her, and we were both still kids then. I wonder how beautiful she looks now, how perfect she would be.
