18- "One-Time Debate"

Danielle Pov:

"I'll never fall in love, no matter what." Haerin said with a straight face, I don't know why, but that upset me even more.

"Why? Imagine you're feeling lonely, though. A partner can cheer you up, be with you at times when needed, like the good parts and bad parts. They can comfort you, expressing their love for you and more. It's enjoyable." I tried convincing her once more, but she doesn't budge!

"You still ask too many questions.." Haerin sighed and continued "Pets can do the same, plus I prefer quietness over someone rambling where their car keys went, plus what if they aren't there for my bad parts because they're too busy having sex with their hook-up?" Haerin said with no hesitation, which made my lips part in shock, but I tried defending my statement.

"That's a bit too straightforward.. But did you experience that to know it will happen? You're stereotyping and focusing on the bad parts of love, and will an animal start speaking magically unless it's trained to comfort you? And what if animals bite you? And why necessarily would that happen during the bad parts? What got you to memorise that to happen instead of them loving you dearly?" I said trying my best to make understanding statements.

"Actions speak more than words, body language is more clear to be honest, because people lie word for word sometimes, you even said your gullible to fall for someone like that. That's a downside." She defended herself rather quickly.

"What if the animals hate you?" I gave up at this point, I leaned my back against the tree bark wanting to rest for whatsoever reason.

"I'll try to gain their trust." "Why not do that with humans?" I replied almost as soon she said that which made her speechless, she didn't have anything to reply with. Finally I get a point!

Suddenly I see her beside me also lean against the tree her gaze still at the sky observing nothing.

"Because, you gain ones trust easily just for you to break it apart because it's in your power, it's like a little game for you because you have twisted desires. That's more than half of the humans mindset." She finally spoke, she was right. Should have seen this coming.

"People do the same thing with animals, it happens either way. It's not your option is it? We don't have control over anything so your basically setting love for animals too. Not in that sense.. you get me?" I said, hopefully I convinced her because I seen her hesitating for a bit.

"Are you indicating me as an animal?" She questioned me almost making me laugh at the question, even though I may have worded it wrong.

"Okay maybe wrong example." I admitted which caused Haerin to frown. "Haerin-ah, there's no way you haven't fallen in love before! Like seriously! There has to be someone that caught your eye!" I groaned in frustration from this girl.

"Certainly no one." She confirmed, I swear I'm not gonna believe her. "How!? Like there has to be this one very very very attractive looking person for you!" I shook her shoulders not believing what buffoonery she's saying!

"What if you're the attractive person?"

Excuse me?! WHAT?! I BEG FIVE PARDONS!? WHAT DID SHE SAY? MY JAW IS DROPPED WHAT. why am I on the verge of smiling? I'm straight. STRAIGHT DANIELLE JUNE MARSH.

"I'm joking, I'm not gay or anything." Haerin teased me after seeing my baffled expression, she was biting her bottom lip fighting back a smile.

"Haha, so funny." I grumbled, because I'm not smiling at all. "Anyways. Moving on from whatever we had, our debate is a one-time thing. No more." I said admitting defeat.

"So you think love is kind of stupid?" She said, I did not agree to that! "No way! You know love is a good thing to happen to everyone!" I said defensively.

"Nope, it's just something that will get you in a mental breakdown in a few weeks." "Nu uh!? Love will keep you happy! Even if you go through some ups and downs there's still gonna be happiness!" And there began our debate once again.

"I disagree, because how would you go through love knowing it would end anyway? Love is just gonna be sorrow!"

"So you're saying that love equals to hate?"

"Possibly yes."

"That fact is SO wrong! Love will bring you happiness because you're able to spend it with your future spouse and all maybe have a pet chihuahua with it! You probably never ever kissed someone knowing you said!"

"I would never, I don't think you have either, let's be honest here."

"Wait that's not relevant anymore! You're just so blind and allergic to love, I wonder how. Because love is the most beautiful thing that can happen!"

"You're pretty much blabbering the same thing over and over again, ran out of ideas finally?"

"Did not! You haven't even brought up anything that you aren't against love. So ha! You agree you like the concept of love!"

"That is very much not how it works!? Plus, love is plainly stupid! You know you're just telling me all those facts without even experiencing something romantic."

"I don't think YOU, the Kang Haerin would have either. So who are you to talk about love without experiencing it? The irony!'

"Aishh! You're one to talk! You have no place either so why are you judging me?"

"Yes I do!"

"That is not what you said!? Why are we playing by your rules which by the way, don't make any sense."

"We both know it makes ALOTT of sense don't act dumb now."

"You're just putting things in your favour! How is that making sense!?"

We basically just went like this for the entire lunch break..
