The waitress came back with our drinks and we ordered food. Of course, I ordered the least expensive thing on the menu. Clay smiled and shook his head.
"He'll get a steak, too." Clay said.
I shot him a glare.
"Clay, no." I mumbled.
"How would you like that done?" The waitress asked.
I've never had steak before. I never had the money for it.
I looked at Clay for help.
"Medium well." Clay stated.
Stacy nodded and walked away. I sighed, and Clay smiled.
"I've never even had steak before." I mumbled.
"Really?" He asked.
I nodded.
"It's good. I promise. I'm sorry for ordering something you've never had. I just noticed you only ordered a small salad because it was the cheapest on the menu." He pointed out.
I rolled my eyes.
"You caught me." I giggled.
He smiled and reached his hand towards mine. I intertwined our fingers. He gently kissed the back of my hand.
"You're beautiful, George. You know that, right?" He asked softly.
"You tell me at least five times a day." I replied.
He kissed the back of my hand again.

George and I got our food. I got to see his reaction to try steak for the first time. He really liked it, which made me happy.
"Do you like wine, George?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Would you like me to get us a bottle to go?" I asked.
He reached his hand towards the bill, which was sat in front of me. I snatched it before he could grab it. I hid it in my pocket.
"Clay. Let me see how much the meal was." He demanded.
I shook my head, and Stacy came back to the table.
"Would you like a wine to go, Clay?" She asked.
I usually did when I came here.
"Yes, please. George, what kind do you like?" I asked him.
The attention was on him, which made him blush.
"Uh, Chardonney." He mumbled.
I smiled.
"That's one of my favorites." I told him.
"I'll get that bottle then." Stacy said.
She walked away.
"Are you gonna be okay with drinking? That was on your list of things that made you uncomfortable." I pointed out.
He nodded.
"I think I'll be alright. You don't get violent when you're drunk, right?" He asked quietly.
I carefully grabbed both his hands in mine, shaking my head.
"No, no, baby. Of course not. I wouldn't have even suggested the bottle if I acted that way while I was intoxicated. I promise I'm nothing like him." I assured him.
"I'm sorry for doubting you and being hesitant all the time." He apologized.
I shook my head again.
"Please don't apologize, my love. I completely understand why you're hesitant. Your feelings are valid, George. It doesn't make me upset when you're hesitant. It makes me a little sad knowing why, but I don't get upset with you." I told him.
