♡George pov♡

I woke up to the sound of crying. My eyes shot open, and I quickly scrambled out of bed. I left my room and went down the hall to Rose's room. I opened the door. Rose ran over to me, hugging my leg. Tony turned around to face me.

What's going on?

"Good morning, George." He said with a smile.

I ran my fingers through Rose's hair as she sobbed. Tony held up a dead cat.

"I was just showing her what probably happened to that stupid fucking kitten she lost." He stated.

Rose cried harder. I picked her up and she clung to me.

"Tony, that's not funny. Please, take it outside." I mumbled.

His smile dropped as did my heart.

"Rose, honey, why don't you go play with your toys?" I suggested, setting her down.

Before she could respond, Tony grabbed my arm tightly, yanking me out of the room. He slammed me against the wall.

"Don't tell me what to fucking do in my house, bitch!" He screamed.

I can smell the alcohol on his breath.

He slapped me across the face. He threw the dead cat onto the hallway floor. I could feel my body quivering, and I shut my eyes tightly.

"I'm sorry." I whimpered.

"You better be." He muttered.

He let me go and walked away. I heard the screen door slam shut. I slowly opened my eyes.

"Daddy, the cat!" Rose sobbed.

I walked back into her room, squatting in front of her. I gently caressed her cheek.

"I know, baby. I'll take care of it. I'm sure Luca is just fine. He'll come home soon." I assured her.

She nodded.

"Why does Tony hit you?" She asked.

I felt my heart sink.

She's asked this question before, and it always messes with me.

"He just gets upset sometimes. It's okay." I mumbled.

"He only gets upset when he drinks that stuff in the bottles. Why doesn't he stop?" She asked.

I bit the inside of my lip.

"I don't know, darling. I'm sorry you have to see it." I apologized.

She shrugged and went to go play with her toys. I stood up and went into the hallway, shutting the door behind me. I looked down at the dead cat.

Why the fuck would he show that to her?

I picked it up and walked through the living room. I opened the front door and threw it off the porch. I saw Tony talking to the other guys who lived in the trailer park. I went back inside and into the bathroom. I quickly washed my hands and went to my room.

Fuck. I hate my job.

I changed into my work uniform and left my room. I knocked on Rose's door.

"Are you dressed for daycare, hun?" I asked.

She opened the door.

"Baby, you can't go to daycare without pants. Why don't you have pants on?" I asked.

"I don't know how to put on the jeans. They're the only clean pants." She told me.

I went into the room and grabbed the jeans she had discarded on the floor. I squatted down, and she came over to me.
